If it's running I'll be there but with my asthma I'll be keeping a bit my distance

Yeah, we should all keep our distance. Jesse (I think NightViper is Jesse, not sure) posted that they'll be asking all attendees to wear masks. I'm going to try to not touch anything I don't intend to buy, which could be difficult, typically you want to pick up a loose toy and give it a once-over before buying it, but it seems a prudent precaution.

Yeah. They plan on asking dealers and pre-registrants what they want to do, essentially as to what their final move will be.
Robocon doesn't see thousands of people so the risk isn't as great, in my opinion. (Kentucky also isn't hit as hard as California, New York, Michigan, Louisiana, etc...)
But they will be able to monitor things in Kentucky closely, so that's good!
We'll have a definite answer in the coming weeks according to Jesse.

Excellent. Well I'll be coming from a low risk area (3000 cases to 3.4 million inhabitants) too but yes, I'll be keeping my hands to myself too. Well, unless some beautiful young lady throws herself at me but, you know, that hasn't happened in months. :D

But yeah. Before all this hit I was fortunate to have bought a box of nitrile powder free gloves. So. Gonna keep em handy until June lol

Does anyone know the status of the red Botcon shirt?

Last I heard was it was going to ship early April but with shutdowns I haven't heard any updates nor shipping notifications.

If your convention requires that attendees wear face masks to attend and not touch anything, you should probably cancel the damn thing.

That's probably going to be the social norm from here on out... Regardless if it's now, next year, whenever..
Also, a request =/= a requirement. Go to your local Wal-Mart and count how many folks are shopping without masks, gloves, etc...
It looks like they are giving pre-reg the option to change their package to non-attending if they feel that attending will be unsafe regardless if they keep or delay the dates, too.

    RoboCon 2020 UPDATE!

We are sure you have seen countless emails and updates pertaining to the current state of affairs that the world is in. We won’t rehash all of that for you here, instead we will just get to the question of our plans for 2020. The Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky did provide us the option to either cancel or reschedule RoboCon. After weighing all of the factors, considering where things are now, where our state officials are hoping they will be over the next few months, procedures in place, and speaking with our vendors, we have decided to reschedule the show for the weekend of July 24-25, 2020. So yes, we are still planning on having our show this summer!

The first question some of you will ask is why are you having a show when other shows are canceling? Simply put, our show is not structured like other shows. We have an opportunity at the Galt House to still hold a show that can take into consideration current procedures such as social distancing, limited numbers of attendees in any one place, a focus on keeping areas disinfected, and implementing other measures to make sure things line up with what people expect when they travel to an event.

The next question may be what if I do not feel safe attending a show this summer? If you have already registered for the show, we are offering either a full refund or the option to convert your package to a non-attending package. This will allow you to still receive the convention edition of the BotCon Legacy book, the Convention T-shirt, the badge and lanyard, and a variety of other free items that we are now including in all current and future registrations. Please note. If for whatever reason the July 24-25 dates are canceled, any registration placed on or after May 6th will be automatically converted to a non-attending package.

That brings up a good question as well. Why July 24 and 25th and not this fall or next spring? We are aware there is still uncertainty in this. The one thing we do feel confident about though is that if we are going to hold a show at any time between now and next May, this summer would be the best time. We feel that holding the show any later in the year would not have been feasible from a safety standpoint. Our goal is to avoid the times of year where we may not be able to hold any events outside, where the weather is colder, anytime that is anywhere near flu season. As the goal has been to slow the spread of this virus, we want to make sure the show is at a time when that is the most likely to be effective.

Finally, our state of Kentucky, our governor Andy Beshear, has done an outstanding job tackling this issue from the very beginning. We were one of the first states to impose travel restrictions and a shelter in place order. We are in the process of re-opening small businesses, restaurants, and the rest of our great state. If by July you feel comfortable going to the grocery store, going to the shopping mall, going out to a restaurant for dinner, then we will do everything we can to make sure you feel comfortable attending Robocon 2020!

We are happy to take any questions, comments, and/or concerns. We just ask that everyone be respectful and remember that we are all in this together.

Please visit https://nightshiningllc.com to see the current Robocon 2020 registration packages. Visit PetesRoboCon.com for continuing updates on the show. We look forward to seeing everyone for a safe and fun RoboCon 2020 this July 24-25 at the Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky.

I asked them if there was a deadline by which time you must decide if you wish to change to a non attending pass, they confirmed that no. You can change to non attending at any time.

So I'll give this another month, see where we are but in addition to what's going on I won't be able to go if my wife has lost her job anyway. We should know that by next month too.

Depending on how many people change to non-attending, it might be better to just cancel the show. The dealers will have no chance at making a profit if, say, more than 50% of attendees switch to non-attending. It sucks, but that's just the way it is this year.

    RoboCon 2020 Friday Update!

Before founding the show RoboCon, our team had previously collaborated from 2005-2016 on hundreds of official Transformers items. Those products included all kinds of original pieces of art, from Magazine Covers, Comics, Lithographs, Trading Cards, MTMTE profiles, Prose Illustrations, Box Art, and more!

Every so often we would work to homage a great piece of classic Transformers art, or something else from pop culture that would work well as a companion piece. Don Figueroa, Alex Milne, Casey Coller, Josh Perez, Guido Guidi, Marcelo Matere, Jake Isenberg, and many more amazing artists all worked to bring these awesome concepts to life!

So! With that... Here is a SNEAK PEEK at the RoboCon 2020 EXCLUSIVE art print featuring this years Custom Class figure... Shattered Glass Megatron. The final art print featuring a full scene of various Shattered Glass characters will be given away FREE to anyone that registers for RoboCon 2020! In the meantime, be sure to check out the full gallery of the Transformers art homages we had produced for BotCon and the former Official Transformers Collectors' Club.

If you have not yet pre-registered for RoboCon 2020, there are two options. Pre-register for your BotCon Pre-Party pack https://nightshiningllc.com/…/robocon-2020-registration-w-b…

Changing to non attending. Wife is furloughed and I'm not sure she will get her job back so bad time for me to be spending money on hotels and flights :(

I’ll be going to Robocon end of July with cast members from stasis lock as well as Megatoyfan and doing either a room to room sale (Thursday) or we will be down in the breezeway. Anyone else going ?
