All thanks to you. Seriously. Thank you. I'll take photos once it arrives (they say no eta when I ordered it).

Congrats! I’ve been itching for an FA figure and just haven’t get around to it yet.

All this talk of Combattler V and here I am trying to justify buying one too... :D  Such a good design, and it's a fun mecha in Super Robot Taisen too! Got a Getter Emperor heading my way now though and I'm stoked... SoC might overtake TF MPs for me.

I love them. I got my first SOC only about a year ago, and you can’t fully appreciate how special they are until you have one in your hands. And there are so many different designs that there’s something for everyone. I don’t have Getter Emperor, but he looks like a masterpiece and I like the design departure from the “typical” super robot aesthetic.

Yeah, when I got GGG that was the beginning of the end for Transformers to me. On top of all the Macross from Bandai and Arcadia, that put the nail in the Transformers coffin. Until I just recently gave in to NewAge Legends Size figures. Now I’m back in with their TFs but extremely selectively.

Yeah I adore the "bio villain" sort of look Emperor has. Evil but just about heroic, with awesome proportions and weird Geiger-esque alt modes. I just wish he had 3 forms!
Not familiar with GGG but yeah you make a compelling argument about the SoC vs. Transformers thing. I love a lot of my TFs (I like the slightly weirder ones,) but honestly don't see myself buying too many more outside the BW MP line - The SoC train is just too real. I also love the look of the Sentinel Metamor-Force line and have their Dancouga ordered. Long live Super Robots.

Edit: Just realized GGG is probably GaoGaiGar. If I got an SoC one of those, I'd go nuts.

Oh yeah, the sentinel stuff is fantastic too. I think @Kuma Style has every one of those made including all the variants.

I picked up Soul of Chogokin GodMars off of Tfsource a few weeks ago. I was so excited because he looked awesome. Started taking pics as I took everything out of the box for a FB group I belong to. When I picked the bigger middle bot up of the couch, his arm fell off.

I returned it all for a refund but I'm still disappointed.

Sad to see that. Hmmm I wonder if it was a screw or a rivet that got undone. I remember a rivet came out of my 2007 SOC Gunbuster, but luckily my father had a rivet punch and a hammer to hammer it back into the shoulder. Either way, SOC God Mars can't win. The original color reissue had Uranus was known to have breakage issues. Now this recolor, this is the 2nd time I've seen this shoulder issue with Sphinx.

That sucks. But on the other hand the benefits of a domestic retailer. Good thing you don’t have to ship it back to Japan in this environment. God Mars has me nervous every time I mess with the individual bots.

That absolutely stinks. I remember having to track down the original because my reissue came broken with parts rattling around inside of the box and reading that they were a mess. Which version is that?

Glad you got it handled easily as well.

I was soooooo looking forward to combining them. Though I should have spent a little more and picked up Vehicle Voltron instead lol

Anybody have both/have had both the SoC and Sentinel Baikanfu? I'm on the fence about which one to put my chips on since they both have pros and cons. Thoughts, @Kuma Style ?

Go with the SoC renewal. Both are about functionally the same which is sad considering how much later the Sentinel was engineered. Regardless the Renewal has the better aesthetic IMO, a Leina figure, and a nice little accessories base on top of not having to worry about q.c. stuff like Sentinel's trademark cracking of their candy red paint underneath the finish.

VV is awesome. You wouldn’t have gone wrong there either. I’m a little surprised he’s still so readily available. Either way, I hope your replacement holds up this time (if that’s the direction you are going).
