Newcomer here, Just start IDW. know i just past the Dark Cybertron crossover yesterday. Well, i like them over all. But when i look back, anyone seem like survive by one way or another. When i read Dragon Ball, i sure you can still count a lot of dead stay dead. Memorable one. I am not sure i can say the same with Transformer though
That happens early on, Wait till you get deeper into MTMTE/LL and RID/Optimus Prime, bodies start dropping left and right.
well im no expert in dragon ball but didnt goku die five times and return every single time? and i dont remember any main character actually remaining dead.
Goku die twice. Also, yeah, no main character die since they have dragon ball, of course. But hey, the antagonists actually stay dead
Aren’t the Dragon Balls, of which the series is named after, quite literally used almost exclusively to resurrect the dead? (And occasionally immortality and pandas panties)
This is part of why I stopped reading MtMtE. The entire cast was "killed" three separate times, and many of the main cast had (multiple!) individual fake out deaths. It robbed the impact of when characters actually for-real died. Like, the series had to end for me to realize those permanent deaths were in fact permanent deaths and not going to be undone next issue.
I think that's part of the problem with Roberts having to massively compress his plans. Though he did have some issues with death fake outs, the stuff near the end was like "EVERYONE IS GOING TO DIE! wait no it's ok NOW EVERYONE IS GOING TO DIE wait it's fine now OH NO X IS DEAD whoops secretly they're alive", which is totally normal in the world of comics, but generally doesn't take place across like a span of like five issues as opposed to fifty.
