Been meaning to comment on this, but that's good to hear.

Anyways, got an email that my Xenoblade DE wouldn't arrive until June 9-12. I'm willing to wait that long.

Anyone know where I can find a Switch console for my 7 and 1/2 year-old son right now? He could really use a pick-me-up and I'm struggling to find something/do something.
    Thanks.

Where I live we got a few stores around that's within a 10mi drive. A few Targets, Fred Meyers (Fry's or Meijers in other states), Best Buys, and GameStops. You could check their websites see if any have in stock too.

I have checked everywhere in a 100+ mile radius of my location in MA and no one has any stock of these. Been checking everywhere online for like 2 weeks and nothing, no where in stock.

I saw that article like a day before I managed to order myself a Switch off of Best Buy's site in late April. They had them listed as store pick-up only but was able to convert over to normal ship to home right after placing the order.
I reckon the store pick-up thing was an attempt to confound the bots without needing to do any major adjustments to their site.

    Unpopular opinion warning:

OK, after having my daughter join me on my AC island and thinking about it some more I can kind of understand the one island / system limitation. Otherwise in a game as connected as this one it would be so easy to just load up on everything via having one "good" island and a whole bunch of "farm" islands. Maybe they could reduce the possibilities of exploitation via having additional restrictions on common-system islands (like for example no mailing presents), but people would of course find workarounds. Not that they don't already, apparently.

As attractive as it is I don't think the comparison to Stardew Valley is really valid. SV is entirely self contained, with no way to transfer anything between farms. And until recently it was single player only. AC is a very different game in those respects.

My problem with those sorts of rationales personally is, what of those who don't want the "connected" experience and simply want their own island? People forget that Animal Crossing was originally a solitary experience and a lot of people still just want that experience, without having to buy a second copy of the game or worse still, an entire additional console.

I just... on the scales of reasonableness, being able to create more than one unique save on a copy of a game I own without being forced to buy another entire console > preventing totally optional exploits that don't cause harm and that there are ways to avoid exposure to.

But that's just where I stand on it, to each their own, I still own the game so...

Except.. In Japan, it -wasn't- ment to be a solo experience. Everyone was supposed to share the same out. It was literally designed to be done the same way.

Oh I totally get that the restrictions are very burdensome for those that just want a self contained single player experience. Nintendo had to do a balancing act between those folks and keeping the networked experience at least somewhat resistant to exploits. Obviously they swung heavily towards the latter and business wise it seems that was the correct call but it sucks for those who aren’t interested in multiplayer.

There's essentially no justification I can ever accept for not allowing me to have more than one save in a game I own without buying an entirely new console. As I said to each their own. That's just where I stand. Anyway moving on.

Moments like this when I'm grateful my eyesight is poor :lol  Literally can't tell the difference. And I expect I'll be able to even less on the much smaller handheld Switch screen. (Which seems to always get ignored. Something is going to look better at a low resolution on a small screen than on a full size display. Especially when the full screen version as they point out seems to be using some sort of filtering to soften the image so that the lower res is even less noticeable on the small screen by comparison, assuming it doesn't use it too.)

I completed Trails of Mana about a week ago using Hawkeye, Riesz, and Angela. I thought about doing a second play though using Kevin, Charlotte and Duran but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to complete it before Xenoblade comes out this Friday, so I popped in Witcher 3, just to try it out again. I could have sworn the first time I played Witcher last year, the camera was only moving in 90 degree turns, and I wasn’t enjoying it. This time, the camera moves smoothly like any other game. I Started a brand new game and got a lot farther then my first play though and actually enjoying it. Though I’m still putting it down to play Xenoblade. Oh. I also downloaded a bunch of Demos. I gotta play them when I get a chance.

    Good gawd the Xenoblade performance.

If Monolith are going to keep using this engine, Nintendo could at least pay Panic Button or Virtuos to have a go at sorting it out.

My Xenoblade Definitive Works set finally shipped. Was beginning to wonder if it would get delayed.
