You mean like the Chronarcitect? Hell yeah. Why not?

Unicron and Primus don't need to be the only ones, there's quite a few that could be utilized from TF's library.

I’m guessing your talking about often overpowered things like the matrix as it wasn’t obviously stated in the opening posts.

I don’t mind the use of cosmic relics even if they are really strong or overpowered in the story setting so long as there is not too many of them and their power and usefulness is clearly defined and has at least some limits, flaws, dangers or down sides to using them as it sucks if they end up being the bland instant win magic trick for the good guys.

I liked it when they had some negative elements like alpha Trion having to give his life to create the airialbots only for them to be entitled douchebags upon arrival and the real key to vector sigma being a danger to earth or when vector sigma allowed Galvertron to know about the plasma energy chamber which lead to an autobot massacre and near destruction of a large part of the universe. Even in the movie Ultra Magnus got himself gruesomely ripped apart failing to open the matrix so as long as these cosmic things are not just excuses for the writers to do lazy and cheap feeling last minute against all odds win for the good guys I’m in.

I liked the re-invention of the Quintessons in Transformers vs. G.I. Joe as extra-dimensional beings who claim to have created all life and seemingly loathe it.

Yes. I demand that entity to be the sometimes benevolent, sometimes malevolent Noodle-cron. It shall rule the Botbots with its pasta-y wisdom.

I don't think so. I feel like when we get a lot of very powerful, cosmic entities involved, the stakes just become too big to care about.

For example, Marvel and DC Comics cosmology. They're too involved or characters who weren't that cosmic before are suddenly incredibly powerful and important (looking at you, Darkseid).

Agreeing with the last few comments, I find that it just lacks imagination and at some point gets boring to have all these "god-like" entities that never have any brains and do things wrong all the time.

Stories are better with smaller characters in terms of power but larger in personality are much better... you can have very strong ones (physically/power) without going over the top.. having such super-powered beings is not epic, nor edgy, it's lazy, and then like with Superman, you have to create huge flaws in the character and such to try and balance things, otherwise they can just sit there and not really have to do anything, they are ultra-powered beings so really not able to be confronted or such, unless as stated, have huge flaws that destroys the whole thing about them being so powerful in the first place.

I guess a series of panels like this about a powerful cosmic being holds no pathos for you, then?

    Not whatsoever...

It's what I stated... similar to how Transformers being alien robots, such characters are so humanized that you might as well make then all be humans that are bitten by either a radioactive robot spider or tiny radioactive Darkseid.

It would be nice to stop pretending that such cosmic entities and robots are anything but completely humanized so that people can "identify" and relate to them... I tend to prefer when a writer doesn't stop as such standard approaches and just go full WTF for behavior that is outside of human logic.

Sure, some do end up becoming a bit more "humanized" through exposure, but at some point, the ultra powered beings would simply not behave or think like humans do.

Heck, an example, Star Trek with Q did it as good as anyone ever did within a very tight concept. Never once did Q come close to being "human".. even when he lost his powers as part of the plot of the day, he retained his character's integrity and at the end, you can't ever be sure if any "challenge" was truly real and not a "lets screw with humans" test. The end of Next Generation with Q was perfect to me... it separates him as a cosmic entity that simply was above and beyond anything that humans were able to understand... and everything that happened throughout the whole series was set in question. His "omnipotence" is shown for what it was... beyond human capacity to understand WTF he really is, wants, intentions, and goals.

But with most comic characters, they always go stereotypical "humanized god" that should simply snap his finger and never have any issue.

Marvel universe for example.. if Thanos has any brains, he wouldn't have "snap = 50% off all population go poof".. he would have gone "snap, and cause all beings to never be able to have more than two (and a 1/100 chance for a third) child since the dawn of time" (and simply create a balance of two adults = two children, with the extra random for accidental death and such). When you have cosmic entity level power, why the hell would one be so limited in thinking of a proper/better solution.. come on... 50% go poof, that 50% will end up redoing the same scenario in just a few "cosmic" years. Seriously.. you're an immortal godlike being that has been alive for thousands of years and that's the best you can think of? Especially when you have to go get a MacGuffin gauntlet that contains every power possible to change anything, including time?!

I could give you example of why a cosmic entity sucks fairly easily with any you'd throw at me.

This Orion guy.. daddy issues... boohoo.. you're a super powered demi-god that "harnesses/channels" placebo energy from beyond and must fight his father's darkness within him.... and here you are, humanized psychological issues that a psych student could figure out and deal with.

and again...that's a 100% "humanized" thing, NOT a cosmic entity thing.

It would be "boring" to some (even many) to have a truly competent character written that would truly have a proper cosmic entity persona and be able to do things according to his lifespan (immortal), his power (massively god-like with very small limits).

The thing is, there is a very big difference between "super powered", (let's say level 1-3) "ultra-powered" (level 3-6), demi-god (7-8), (lower) god-like (8-9), and full blown GOD / cosmic entity level freaking 10 to 11.

Transformers are almost all in the "super" level (1-3) just for being robots, so way beyond human strength and speed, lifespan, etc. But beyond that, not really... that's only with the really lazy writers. For references, level 1 would be just about all of them, a 2 would be the high strength and skills ones and for level 3, we'd have the Megatrons and Primes. We can add "ultra" class for the combiners (4), really insanely powerful freaks ones (5) and the titans at (6).

But this is a scale similar to the richter scale, where 1 is the base, 2 is 10x more powerful, 3 is 10x more than a 2, and so on, so the "god like is like 1x10x10x10x10x10x10x10x10x10 in power (so 1,000,000,000 / 1 billion times) compared to the base, which, don't forget is still "super" so a minimum of a good 10 to 100 times above a human. So that's 10 to 100 billions in power above humans.

And that's just an example... some "cosmic beings" could easily be much more powerful than this.

And to add to this, remember that writers tend to change their scale of power for their characters on an ongoing base. Superman is a 1-3 level at times, and almost a 6, even a 7 at times (and even more in some stories)

Of course there's also the Vok from Beast Wars. One implication I took away was when they took the form of Unicron's head, they did so because Unicron was the closest thing the Transformers race had encountered that was remotely close to them.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "Cosmic Entities". Does that mean godlike begins like Primus and Unicron? If so, I say definitely not. I already think Primus is one too many. If it just means aliens in-general, I'm always up for more species existing in Transformers lore.
