And that's my biggest criticism of the book. I hear Ruckley is a novelist by trade, but you can't write a comic book like you would a novel. It just doesn't work. Going from Lost Light and Optimus Prime to Ruckley's IDW2 is a huge drop for me.

How long have you not read the comics? The first 10 numbers (I don't remember the exact number) didn't have much action, but the last more than half a dozen editions have action almost every issue.

I've not read #19, but IDW2 has a serious disconnect with me that I didn't experience with IDW1. I'm just not absorbing the story like I had been doing.

That's my problem, too. There's SO MUCH TALKING, so it's really hard to engage with the story that's being told.

I finally decided to read #19 today. And I was right, just more standing around talking. Bumblebee gets bitten and shot at, but that's as far as it goes for the scenes that aren't of Transformers standing around talking.

We're nineteen issues in. And there's barely been any actual progress. Compare to the first nineteen issues in of the Marvel comics, or the original IDW comics. The actual only good fight so far in nineteen issues is Megatron crushing Shockwave in #15.

Issue 23 and the Ascenticon stuff is still going on?? Mostly been enjoying this latest chapter (big step up from the first half), but good lord. I’m going to need Megatron to put on his cannon and go to war already. This is dragging on for way too long.

Not digging the art. Cutesy, and Megatron looks like a fembot and dumb af with that smirk and body curvature.

I hate that Megatron art so much.....like...what the Hell are they even doing....like the only good bits are the cassetes now in more animalistic...like I can dig them being around Megatron as he descends into his reign of evil....but come on.....God...sometimes I wish this nu-era just had something that worked...makes me want the old canon to come back.....least it had a moment to let you emmerse yourself in the backgrounds....Wake me up when the Scavengers are in....

Those choices make more sense when you remember that many of the fanartists currently being hired gained popularity/experience from doing nsfw transformers art.

That does make sense. But the worst kind of sense.

This cover is not appealing. It’s more boring than the story.

Megatron's proportions look weird on that cover, can't place it...

The sad part is that the ones they'll give jobs to don't even make good NSFW art.

That is the question of the hour. I hope we at least get the rest of '84 and the Terminator Crossover before they implode, everything else are acceptable losses.

We've been stuck waiting for the new issues for so long we went to nitpick the covers. I think the cover's fine. Megatron looks devilish.

Y'all looking at this like Rob Liefeld came back. :p

Uh where are you getting this info? Sara did some tantalizing work but that's it.

If I'm being honest I quite like this new cover, and it kinda makes me want to pick up the Siege cassette bots. Speaking of which, I wonder if HasTak will ever do a Buzzsaw Howlback two pack for Selects? Maybe throw in a Sundor and Glit to boot.

I've enjoyed her fanart for awhile, good to see that she's getting to do some official work now.
