I was just thinking about this. I don't know if it's because DC Universe Classics went on so long but I kind of miss the days when we'd get, I dunno, Chemo as a BAF or a boxset of the Legion of Superheroes.

Don't worry, it's a DC line so next year somebody else will start all over with more Batman and Superman in a different style or scale that's kindof sortof but not quite what you wanted.

At this point I'm just waiting to see if Hasbro will end up with them, and I know Hasbro has their own issues, but at this point, they'd be the best company to do a DC collector line.

It's crazy that the best chance of getting a DC line that scales with Marvel Legends is to give it to the guys who make Marvel Legends.

I don't even care about the scale, I just think it's sad that Hasbro is the only company who would actually give non-Batman characters a focus as they'd most likely do what they do with Marvel, a Batman line and a generalized line.

I wish I had known Joker is street-dated before I tried to buy him this morning. So fucking dumb. I’ll just go back tomorrow after they have undoubtedly put him right back on the shelf so I can pull the ‘ol self-checkout-switcheroo...

    Yes, embarassment rage.

Yeah. I think I have two boxes in my garage. Been contemplating it.

One of my Walgreens messed up and put their McFarDC line on clearance for $6.50. Nabbed their only figure, a 1984 Wonder Woman.

Decent figure on it's own (ignoring the weird hybrid comic/movie sculpt) but yeah, unless a Hal Jordan is made, doubt I'll buy anything else based on her and the Sub zero I picked up.

It also helps that they're no stranger to DC since some of their employees used to work for Kenner on Batman toys.

Hasbro had the license, once. They were awful.

That was some 20 years ago or so when they weren't making comic figures the way they are now though.

I know they arent. I think they'd crush it.

I wonder if they even tried or, WB were being pricks? Disney seems to let Hasbro have free reign. Todd seems to hint at being a little tied.

If the rumors going around are true that sounds about right. DC/WB wants nothing but Batman and Superman. Mattel supposedly had to fight to get anything not related to those two out.

That's a bummer. It's not like I need any more fucking toys, but, if they'd branch out a bit, I might be inclined to become a bigger DC collector. I got the recent McFarlane comic Supes, and I really don't feel like I need another Superman figure in my collection...same goes for Batman.

The thing about Superman is, everyone has their own ideal of him. I quite like the McF one because, he is a great balance. I think mine might be 80's or, mullet Supes, without the mullet. Hard to explain.

Batman is very artist specific. He changes clothes. Adams Bats is my favorite. I also like the short ears, brawler Batman. Which is probably why I liked Batfleck so much.

I had been looking for a plain vanilla non-gimmicky generic Supes for a while and just couldn't fathom why there seemed to be so few of them out there. And while McFarlane isn't exactly my favorite manufacturer, I think they've done a pretty good job on these recent figures. I also got the DC Collectibles set from Gamestop with Leonardo and Batman in it...and I actually quite like that Batman. The function of that figure leaves something to be desired, but, I dig the classic-ish look.
