    It's the best currently available respresentation of toon Hot Rod, but far from the best possible. Most Fanstoys figures don't have hollow midsections, shoulders that are randomly way higher than they should be, or a weird blocky neck/chest with an unsightly gap. And while Hoodlum's backpack is miles better than MP-28s, it's still unsightly (which just goes to show how atrocious MP-28's backpack was). It also just feels horrible to manipulate the shoulders, mine always pop the chest innards apart and start flopping around. I don't know how they managed to mess up everything about the shoulders so badly.

    Despite Rouge, Jabber, and Koot having equally bad (or worse) transformations, I'd still be perfectly content with having them as my definitive MP Arcee, Blur, and Kup from now on, as they look great and feel good to maniplulate. This isn't the case with Hoodlum, so I'm pining to kick it to the curb as soon as something better comes along, just as I did with MP-28 before it.

    Amen to that. Hoodlum looks much better with the adjustable shoulders, but is still a bit of a mess. It's pretty obvious they just shoved it out of the door just to get it over and done with.

    Agree with the gap in collar, but what has everyone been doing with their figures to give them floppy chests? Am I the only one who got a solidly constructed figure? Wow.

    The chest isn't floppy if you just stand him still. There's just nothing securing the back and front halves of the torso to each other. Well there is, it's just not very secure

    Yeah, he just doesn't feel solid and secure. Like, if I pick up any of my other Fanstoys figures, they feel like a solidly built high-end action figure that just happens to be able to transform if I really want to go through the trouble of doing so. Whereas Hoodlum--at least from the waist up--feels like a bunch of panels that insecurely form an incomplete shape of Hot Rod.

    I agree with all of that, but it's very likely that for the forseeable future, there isn't going to be a better reprensentation of G1 Hot Rod unless some company comes out of nowhere. Takara has already made two versions, so it will be years before they even think about making a third. Fanstoys is making a second version of Perceptor after many years, and they also made another Seaspray after a short time which surprised me.

    It just really looks like there won't be another MP G1 style Hot Rod anytime soon unless Xtransbots surprises us with one. That's likely the only chance you see one in the next 5 years.

    I am pining at the bit for an updated MP Rodimus though, whether it be from Fanstoys or Takara. MP-09 needs a major update for Rodimus without Hot Rod being part of it.

    Yeah the face sculpt isn't the greatest and Takara could have made some better choices for the eye color as it's too dark. You also need to make sure the face is pushed up all the way to the top of the helmet.

    With a bit of a repaint and the helmet pushed up while not my favorite rodimus head sculpt, it does look much better.

    @pezley,
    @Ace7782 would like to know about his order for the replacement shoulders. He says he as tried contacting you on Ebay but still no response. You may want to PM him. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    You need to replace the part shown in the first picture, you will need to take the arms off and take the tops of the arms apart to fit the new pieces in. It sounds more daunting than it actually is. The second pic is how it looks when complete. Hope that helps!

    Looks good and dead happy people are happy with them and see the benefits.

    On another not I wanted to shout @daimchoc @ChromeMagnus and anyone else who helps answer questions for people. I don't always see alerts or have time to go through comments so to see others support each other in that way is brilliant. I really appreciate everyone's positivity toward helping :)
