Ah, there ya go. It's hard to remember where I saw your picture, given there's about 8 threads it could've shown up in.

So far that's the most Seacons that I've seen in a single photo. I keep wondering if there's anyone who really troop built them, there were hundreds of them in Masterforce (with only one Turtler), so I've yet to see anyone with say 4+ of any limb displayed, kind of like this:
    Eradicon Ranks.jpg

Given that's one of the reasons why they offered them up as individual orders and not a set that would force troop builders to have multiple Turtlers or other limbs that they may not want, I'm just curious of anyone went all out and got a bunch of, say Lobclaws, to form a hit team:

Not sure why that was ever in question. It's not like the weapons are an integrated part of their beast modes or something. I imagine the piece that originally came with Lob Claw would just be packaged in with one of the other guys... or are these even sold individually or are they all just one big box set? In either case any of the guys can use any of those weapons, so I imagine the piece that was Lobclaw's would just be given to someone else.

Side note... it just occurred to me that this isn't the only Beast Wars character to reuse a G1 mold and we have some other such characters who have been given similar updated figures recently. Specifically I'm curious if the Titan Returns Trypticon mold might be retooled into Gigastorm at some point.

No wonder they sold out so fast. Leave it to Takara to make troop builders limited edition & hard as hell to get. Just like Mass Production Type Noisemaze. :(

    Troop/army builder + LIMIT 2 PER CUSTOMER. Makes a lot of sense!

You do realize they started with an unlimited ordering number and were made to production, right? They literally made as many as people initially ordered, everything else has been rounded production numbers and CS replacement stock from that initial production run. It was impossible for them to have sold out during that window as they hadn't been made until they knew how many were wanted.

So, if someone ordered 10,000 Lobclaws, they would've gotten them and so would everyone else from the original ordering window. I'm not sure how much more fair it could've been. Why has this concept been so hard for people to grasp?

And since you brought it up, I had a very easy time getting Mass Production Noisemaze.

The piece that comes with Lobclaw is the axe that plugs onto the bottom of the trident. God Neptune (one boxset, not individually) doesn't include Lobclaw or the axe accessory. He can still form the trident sword, since the axe isn't really necessary. It just looks like the original trident/sword now, not a trident/spear like King Poseidon's did with the axe extending the bottom.

I too had an easy time finding Noisemaze. Then years later my father died, I panicked & sold a large chunk of my collection. Now it is impossible for me to go back & replace it. But it is still very easy to get the regular black & orange version. I see the regular version on ebay all the time.

Do you understand now? Limited edition vs. regular release? I don't know how else to explain it. When I complain about exclusives & limited editions I'm complaining about the big picture. But all of you only look at the time of release.

At the end of last year everybody could pre-order Piranacon for a very short time & pay around $250. Now, just a few months later, they're shit out of luck. The price has already been jacked up over $500. But if it had been a regular release everything would be completely different. What is so hard to understand about that? I don't see the problem.

    Regular releases = GOOD :thumb
    Exclusives = FUCKING SUCK :thumbdown

Oh yeah, here is another thing none of you ever take into consideration. Let's say years down the road you buy a limited exclusive & pay double or triple for it. And you happen to receive a defective specimen. Now what? If it were a regular release you could get a refund & go buy it somewhere else. If it's an exclusive? Have fun with that! Hope you enjoy being screwed.

You should probably consider leaving the hobby or just stick to being content with the fiction since exclusives aren't going away any time soon. Also we all get how limited edition works. Guess what, there are retail non-exclusive figures that cost a fortune to replace too, so it's not like it being a limited edition automatically makes it hard to replace. There are a lot of exclusives that you can pick up for not much more than retail years later. Hell they are probably cheaper now then they were if you consider inflation.

I like how there are people pretending the Seacons' price on the secondary market is anything new when most CW stuff goes for anywhere from double to triple it's original price.

Especially guys like Rook and Offroad.

Here’s something you never seem to take into consideration... These toys are limited edition because there is a limited market for them! We all here have no desire to pay super high prices for things or deny other collectors the chance to get something, but the alternative to the Seacons being released as a Takara Generations Select isn’t them being released at retail, it’s them not being released at all!

    Do you understand now?

    Exclusive Seacons = GOOD :thumb
No Seacons at all = FUCKING SUCK :thumbdown

Unfortunately the market can only bear so much, so I’m relieved we get these guys at all. Considering Combiners have been off the general market several years now, and 6 blue/green fish would be a hard push at retail at any time.

Again, the alternative to not exclusive is no release at all, & only the most selfish of people would want these toys not to be released if it meant they couldn’t get them (I actually remember a guy saying that on here a while back, imagine being so vile!)

The Seacons would never have been regular releases. And anyone who did not take advantage of the best time to acquire these only has themselves to blame.

Nonsense. They might as well have been regular releases. This is just how things turned out because Hasbro decided to go geewun again.
