I think I've found a configuration for all the weapons that I'm most satisfied with. I kinda hate tjat its either the 5th deluxe as a gun or the combined super gun, but not both. I was going with targetmaster mode + attaching each accesory to its corresponding toy, but Snaptrap's BFG was getting left out, so I combined everything best I could and that it doesn't becone too long of a weapon.

It's odd that in artwork and appearances Nautilator is an arm and Overbite is the gun whilst the bios specifically give reasons for why Nautilator should be the gun.

It's sad the toy just feels cheap and weak.

 

Seems like a common issue now. They mix the plastic too fast or different quality plastic?

 

I figure the bios came out after the toy designer worked on the team. Toy-wise, Overbite should clearly be the gun, since he is both the most gun-shaped of them and is uniquely colored. (the only purple Seacon----and both Menasor and Devastator have purple guns----thus Piranacon's just following that trend). Making Overbite a limb doesn't quite mesh with the coloring of the combined bot.

 

I haven't been following this thread. Is the sword cracking because of the peg or the hole?

 

It's because of the hole. Gulf and Overbite's swords' pegs are both the exact same diameter, and I think the holes on both Tentakil and Kraken's sword pieces are the same too.
The problem is that, compared to Kraken's piece, which is molded in black plastic, Tentakil's is in a much less pigmented plastic which makes it much more susceptible to snapping under pressure. On the upside, that means the plastic's also more flexible and less likely to break apart further after it's been cracked.

 

Would it be better to take a 5mm drill bit and hand turn it to enlarge the hole?

 

Safer to take some sandpaper or file to the pegs. If the hole is stress cracking due to the size of the peg, then using a drill bit(and the pressure of the bit exerting on the hole) might damage or crack it too.

 

I sanded the hole myself. If you've already got a crack, I recommend liquid cement to seal the hole, but that stuff eats right through paint so make sure to only apply it on the inside of the hole where the paint isn't applied.

 

Thanks. Sanding the peg sounds like a better solution. I haven't even opened my Seacons up and it's disheartening to hear that there are issues. Especially when Takara is supposed to have a reputation for better quality (which hasn't been the case in my sample size of Computer and Bruticus).

 

I thought I wouldn't miss Tentakill.
