We are the problem. And the only cure is to not forget ourselves.

Yeah... the appearance of Grimlock he does NOT have. :p  But that can be resolved soon enough.

If I had FYM, I might be doing the same thing with Dinobots, all Combiners, and BW characters.

Honestly I’ve yet to be sold on any version of the Dinobots purely because none of the quite excite me. Both visually, in the way that I feel the character, and also the engineering, since they often can’t do much apart from stand and hunch with big swords. This figure does make me more interested than anything else, but I’m hoping to see more that invites me in.

You can never have too many Dinobots...

Or too many Grimlocks at least.

Do yourself a favor and check out Planet X's Vulcan. I got a used one for a good price after the Power of the Primes Grimlock totally failed to be the CHUG Grimlock I wanted. Now, at the time, I had the old Hasbro Voyager FoC Grimlock, and when I first took Vulcan out of the box I was fairly unimpressed. Like, yeah, he was better than the Hasbro one, but it didn't seem like a huge difference. Plus, without his "wings," I never though that version really captured Grimlock's robot aesthetic.

But then I flipped him to dino mode and I was blown away. His forearms expand over his robot hands and give him a more proper digitigrade shape and articulation, and both his tail and head have a lot more articulation than really any other Grimlock figure I've owned. Of all the Planet X figures I own (Trypticon, Megatron, Starscream, Optimus, and all the Dinobots) Vulcan is far and away my favorite.

Vulcan is, essentially, the Grimlock I always wanted at heart. I don't buy 3P often, aside from upgrade kits, but I purchased him at release, and have never regretted it. He's awesome.

That said, if this turns out well, I will happily add it to my small Grimlock collection.

Man, the only downside with Planet X is that their Dinobots were CHUG without diecast. That is like saying I wish NA Lucifer was an MP given how good it is, but my point still stands. PX makes fantastic figures, and size woild've made them even better.

RiD '01 Grimlock - no T-Rex, no sale.
Energon Grimlock is before I started collecting. But maybe one of these days I'll track that one, a G1, and a Pretender Grimlock down for the collection.

Oh, and I also kind of forgot to count that I have the old Classics Deluxe and Studio Series Grimlocks.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind seeing the rest of the Dynobots being done here. I know not everyone likes the more organic looking designs of them but I appreciate how they were trying to do something different with them design wise as opposed to be slavish recreations of the original G1 designs. It'd also be a welcomed change of pace in a slew of MP G1 Dinobots.

Speaking of Organic I'd love to see them do retools of them into their organic dinosaur modes seen in Spotlight Shockwave. Unlikely as that is it'd be a great way to do something different for the 3rd party Dinobots market and give a precursor of MMC tackling organic BW/Pretenders designs.

It's making me want to see their take on BW Megatron even more. Hopefully it won't be too long to see confirmation on that.

Pretender Grimlock is barely a T-Rex. Not everything has to be Geewunn.

This looks amazing so far, however I hope we soon get to see the dino mode as well, 'cause that is gonna determine whether or not I buy this

Yeah, I told myself over and over Severo's wasn't "actually that bad" but it DID bother me.

No, everything doesn't have to be G1. That's why I have Animated, RiD '15, and Studio Series Grimlock (and if we're being technical FoC and Cyberverse, while heavily inspired by G1, aren't G1).

But picking a random Transformer name out of a hat and slapping it onto a random character with no real similarity doesn't work for me, and RiD '01 doesn't belong with the other Grimlocks.

I'm happy with Severo (especially since Fansproject made the rest of the Dinobots, so they all fit aesthetically), but... I'll admit, Severo's dino mode is a bit lackluster. I'm not opposed to replacing him if MMC's ends up winning me over.

Or maybe I'll get him anyway because space T-rex.

Oh yeah Vulcan does look rad. He’s definitely the only other Dinobot alike chap I’m interested in aside from this. He gets it so dang well.
