Why was Blurr struggling to get the Dinobots in the shuttle in TF The Movie? I still can't figure it out.
    Perhaps I missed something.

    Was it:

    A) They wanted to stay and fight? If so, they were still just standing there.

    B) They didn't want to be stuck on the same ship as Blurr.

    C) It was just for comedy.

D)They were too stupid to know how to get on the shuttle in the first place. If so, did Optimus Prime have to struggle like this before leaving Moonbase One? (That would have been funny)

    E) They don't like flying (ala B.A. in ths A-Team)? Unlikely, seeing they literally leapt from the ship at the into the battle of Autobot City earlier in the film.

    F) They were just being awkward and rebelling against Ultra Magnus leadership.

    G) The scene was written for the Anibots, who may have been written as just robot animal life, but kept it in when the Dinobots took the roles.

Would love to hear your ideas.

The Dinobots are stubborn. Just as they always have been.

    This is a weird thread.

That's how the scene was written... the writers went with "dinobots = stupid" and the children laughed, they laughed as they pointed their fingers at the TV screen (or theatre screen) and went "daddy! (or mommy) look how silly that robot dinosaur is!".

This is a cartoon and if the writers would have decided that having some characters do the macarena to get some laughter from the audience, that's what they would have animated. Heck, why not ask, "how come there's not a single scene with a robot standing on his head and spitting pennies?"

No reason to analyze or wonder here... it's a cartoon that was written by writers for children, they just had to have such child oriented scenes.

Combo of A, C, and F, with "F" being basic stubbornness in the "You can't make me do things." childish form.

This is my initial thoughts too. They wanted to stay and fight but they've never been very effective against fliers in Dino mode. And trying to hold the fort while the Autobots escape would be ineffective as well, in which Grimlock obviously didn't think through.

The Dinobots started out mentally at around Two year olds who were in their no phase and testing authority.
By the movie they were more like 5 year olds who wanted people to tell them stories and didn't want to come back inside the house from playing (Or for them fighting)

In-story probably all of them bar C but in terms of why that scene got written the way it did is entirely C as they obviously wanted to put a silly lasso scene with some comedy voice actor lines as light-hearted relief from the imminent doom coming from above.

I genuinely do love the original movie with its over the top soundtrack and epic city and planet transformation scenes but just like most of the other G1 fiction out there it’s probably best not to overthink it too much as most of it falls to pieces if you do that.
