I second that! Heck, I still want to know who “Unit 3” was intended to be.... That story was so convoluted, it’d be nice to have SOME straight answer. I still love the toys though.

I kinda do wonder if they would just do both beast-mode BW updates along with Dawn of Future's past styled redecos of siege toys, i can see Depthchage being retooled from Siege Prowl. Along with Cheetor being a new mold based on his Transmetal form (Given that's when the point they actually visit the Ark.)

 

When you say "entire Beast Wars line" I think that's a given. We'll get updated figures of the cast at some point, with G1 dudes mixed in as either repaints/retools of those molds. (Or G1 bots in beast modes with them repainted/retooled as guys from the toyline who weren't in the show).

I actually wouldn't be shocked to see a BWII approach. Beast modes for some, with a few vehicles mixed in to represent stuff like BB.

Heck, with Takara taking part in the unified line...that actually ups the odds. Especially if you're hoping for stuff like Lioconvoy, Gaskunk, Skybyte, etc.

Honestly? If Hasbro is nervous about BW stuff, there's ways to make them more marketable stateside. Example: Look at LioConvoy. That name may not set the US ablaze, but his bot mode could be best described as "Optimus with lion parts hanging off..."

Maybe I'm the minority, but I could see Takara selling an updated Lioconvoy as is...but Hasbro calling him something like "Leo Upgrade Optimus Prime." And yes, I know "Leo Prime" is a name they've used....but if they want an Optimus at retail, that'd do it.

 

Remember OBSCURE CHARACTER REFERENCE & REFERENCE TO POP-CULTURE MOVIE? Remember Evil SG Always winning? Remember Beast Wars Uprising? Remember when Chromedome and Rewind were popular so they tried remaking them as Alpha Bravo and Off Road? Remember that time Walky tried to be "woke" and compared transitioning your gender to being an animal that's been neutered?

 

Building upon the BWII approach,you can either have it be about some Autobots and Decepticons crashing into Eukaris then getting involved during the war between Maximals and Predacons since colony planets are still a thing for the TF brand right now which is how we can get some of the G1 guys be in their BW bodies such as Grimlock,Ravage,Prowl,G1 Silverbolt and Ironhide. Heck if Hasbro REALLY wants to be bold,they can actually have WFC3 be about a transitioning period between the end of the Great War between the Autobots and Decepticons represented by the 86 TF movie characters that have yet to be made,and the beginning of the Maximal and Predacon era represented by of course the BW cast. That'd be one effective way of celebrating both the 86 movie's 35th anniversary,and BW's 25th anniversary.

Speaking of Eukaris,I hope that IDW 2.0 does a more in depth look into the world and the beast characters in them,and more importantly not have the majority of them be cannon fodder this time. Yeah I'm still salty about how IDW 1.0 treated them in the end.

lio convoy is too similar to Optimus prime for me they could say this is Optimus prime revived after coming back from the allspark in beast wars time, that he initially didnt have memories of his past life but when unicrom came back he began to have flashbacks of his previous encounters

 

I don't really recall that other stuff you mentioned, but I will defend FunPub here in that Pop-Culture Movie references got us Animated Dragstrip as a Pussy Wagon-coloured alt-mode with a Bride-themed robot mode... and that was pretty fun.

 

Dude, tastes differ. But Beast Wars Uprising (minus the first two text stories) was one of the best pieces of TF writing we ever had.
That Nexus Prime story was pretty fun too and they had some other fun stories.
Can't argue against the lame pop culture references or SG though.

My expectations are so low that I expect Tigertracks and Cheetor to be retconned as the same Transformer.

That way if I'm right, I'm not disappointed, and if I'm wrong, I can be pleasantly surprised.

Was just on bbts and saw these two guys and Man that red dude has a strikingly familiar head sculpt. I know the listing is for a deluxe but there’s your war for cybertron cheetor head sculpt
