"Apparently the leaker that leaked Bluestreak and Ratchet last year got his hands on a new figure... And it's Sleep Mode Optimus Prime."

 

Just wanted to say that regardless of their connection to the titans, they are all stand-out amazing figures that are easily more than good enough on their own. Their attachments to the titans is just an "extra".

In a way I'm actually glad that Hasbro was cheap in this case and didn't include them with the titans, though I would have expected that the molds would have been rehashed most probably (and technically they were anyways as the "Powerdashers").

As accessories for the other figures, they are add-ons that really do complement the line. Just the fan modes that have been put together have been amazing. I personaly wish that they would have continued with this sort of design, if at least to have "extra parts" ...

An extra cog is now my Optimus' roller (that turns into a shield and also pull the trailer), jetpack and such accessories.

 

I will pass this Optimus at the moment only because I already own War for Cybertron and are not too different in bot mode however the clean look on this wins. Amazing Prime,absolutely, but for my future OP purchases I prefer this bot bigger.

 

That’s fair but my mentality is more so character first than toy. It’s stupid and I end up up changing things anyway. I’ve tossed around the idea of getting sixgun for my UT shelf but could never pull the trigger.

 

Well.. I posted as a "precaution" that I've lived myself a few times when I hesitated and then kicked myself when the figure was no longer easily available.

Some figures I got in flea markets and such and after fiddling with it I would think to myself "why the hell did I not get this at the time!?!??!"

There are a few figures that I'd love to either have, or have an extra or more and the prices even for used are absolutely nuts at 4 to 10 times the original prices... Twin twist for example... on sale for 15$, I hesitated and "I'll get it next time"... next time was 2 years later at over 50$... and THAT was the cheapest I found it for.

Heck... even non Transformers such as the Power rangers Megazord, I have an original, but a year or so ago, I got the legacy Dragonzord for a fair price of under 70 CAN$, and not realizing that they had changed the ports (as while I enjoy the robots, I never followed the figures all that religiously), found out that it's not compatible with my original as the legacy versions are not re-releases but modified versions....so now, I can't find a decently priced legacy Megazord as it's a good 4-5 times the original price (so multiple hundreds of $$). I just hope to find one that would be a decent used at a respectable price.

So just that you know that these figures like so many others out there... you can have them stand alone... just look at the wreckers... would you get or not get a figure because it's part of that particular team? I can understand that you have a "character" collection, but at some point, these guys might not be developed much now in media, but if at some point they do (because of the toy) become their own "robot" and are independant "characters" then... just food for thought.

Worse case, take them apart and use them as accessories, weapons, shields.

Again, not trying to convince you, just wanting to ask the question of "will you kick yourself for not having them at some point?" if the answer is no.. then it's all good.

 

That’s fine and it’s a great point about the “kick yourself” as that’s what I’m dealing with in regards to wheeljack. I might get him just because of his cyberverse character because to me the g1 was nothing more than the “Dino dad,” which in itself should be important since I love the Dinobots so much. Honestly I might get fasttrack if the toy is good So maybe sixgun (or maybe the powerdasher possibly) might end up on my shelf. The other issue is I don’t get to “play” with my toys that often. My shelf mainly consists of my headcanon story that I’ve given them. I appreciate that you care enough to even respond so don’t think it’s fallen on deaf ears. It’s given me food for thought so thank you.
