Delete the opening cell phone clip... horrible cgi and scene, and reshoot Cavill's scenes that had the cgi mustache out.
In true Snyder cult fashion, they're currently harassing Joss Whedon about this. They can't just be happy that this movie is actually coming out.
The same fanboys who demanded this will be the first one to bitch about it. And then HBO Max subscriptions will take a nosedive.
On paper a filmmaker getting to put out his vision is nice, but this is probably going to be BVS on steroids. Justice League is a mediocre movie. Maybe with some room to breathe it’ll be better, but this probably won’t be much better. It’s the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut legions that got their way and honestly I wish they hadn’t. The turd that comes out of this won’t be a godsend that magically fixes the DCEU. Justice League was the final defeat for DC’s desperate attempt to catch up to the Avengers, and Endgame was definitive proof that the DCEU would never have made it led by Snyder. DC lost the war with Marvel and it’s doing what it should’ve done all along tbh, putting out standalone stories giving us characters we can care about and giving them time to grow. Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam, Birds of Prey, Phoenix Joker, all considered decent at worst by most people. DC is doing just fine right now. I feel like the Snyder Cut is some sort of attempt to salvage the fight against Marvel that they lost. Whatever.
That's pretty much how I feel about this. I think it'll be interesting at most, but probably won't sway me to like the movie(I didn't like it when I saw it).
I highly doubt it will fix the movie, but I’m glad the people who were asking for it will finally have it.
I just hope this doesn't mean DC will have to backpedal on the current direction of their movies (one-offs with more even tone and mood).
well i'm interested enough to check this out. honestly worst case scenario for WB is that it's better than the version we got. if it's worse then no harm no fowl but there's some serious discussions to be had int he future if his version is better
Wait so it is 100% happening? We’re going to get the intended version of this movie? Awesome. Liked Man of Steel, liked the extended version of BvS, sure this will be, at the very least, entertaining. Depending on how it goes maybe it’ll be the new canon version of the story.
How bad is Snyder at making movies that he needs four fucking hours to tell the movie about the Justice League? It’s the same argument with Batman v. Superman: why are these highly paid movers and shakers taking 3+ hours to do what a modest to well budgeted cartoon writers did in 1.5 hours? God you know what, it it comes out the be it bad or brilliant at least the baying fan-twats on Twitter will shut the fuck up about it.
Seriously. Fans can be petty & ungrateful. Dude came into a bad situation & did his best to finish the movie. The movie wasn’t great, but you know- I’m sure it wasn’t because he was actively trying to make it bad. Fans need to just be gracious for a change. They’re getting what they want.
It worked out for them though. Can you imagine what would have happened if Snyder’s film made it to theaters? Batman v. Superman had a sub 2.0 multiplier and collapsed at the box office. Now they can say Justice League flopped because of Whedon’s changes. Never mind that Justice League had better reviews and a higher multiplier.
HBO Max can secure at least two months of subscriptions by splitting this into six installments. Snyder is also considered box-office poison, so the theaters wouldn’t be a viable option for this.
I thought the theatrical BVS was good/okay, I thought the Ultimate Edition cut of BVS was GREAT! If you liked BVS you probably will like this JL: Snyder Cut. I know there are people out there that say he doesn't understand Superman or Batman, and that is okay ... you have a fair argument to be made. This isn't for you. I for one am pretty excited for this. I guess my only question is will this movie end with a sense of closure. I was originally under the impression that Snyder was actually going to do 2 movies for Justice League, not just 1. Is this going to end on some kind cliff hanger?
Why would anyone want them to do that? They should just let it drown in its own bile and, in a couple years, try again with something that maybe isn't so abhorrent.
I can't wait for all the DCCU fans to realize that Whedon was the only thing keeping the movie even remotely on topic. Theatrical Justice League is a chopped together mess of conflicting tones. Snyder League will be a fully operational cynicism mill, a concentrated dose of everything Zach Snyder wants to say about Superheroes.
He really should be angling to direct the third season of The Boys for Amazon, then he can go sink beers with Garth Ennis.
