The Joe's on the other part were the first wave of Classified. Since everyone has seen them, I didn't grab a screenshot of them.

I think what I find interesting about this artwork is that... if this is indeed a leak of what to expect from wave 2 (Cobra Commander, Baroness, Storm Shadow, and Red Ninjas) than what about Gung-Ho and the Alley Vipers that we're seeing on the back of the packaging? Are they part of wave 3? It's entirely possible we only get four figures in the second wave. Or maybe Gung-Ho is the fifth figure in wave 2? I mean, we got one Cobra and four Joes in wave 1 so I could see that. And even if that happens that still leaves Alley Vipers for wave 3... so that makes me wonder who else we'd get... especially if they do end up alternating waves with one mostly Joes and the next mostly Cobras.

So, clearly going on speculation here, but if the Alley Vipers are the wave 3 Cobra release and they are indeed going to be splitting the waves in the fashion I suggested... the four Joes I'd like to see in wave 4 are Stalker, Flint, Lady Jaye, and General Hawk.

Cobra Commander would have to turn out terrible for me to skip. I have more figures of him than anybody besides maybe Flint.

Anyone have any recommendations about a replacement head for Stormshadow? Just need a basic ninja head (preferably white, otherwise, would need to be painted white), and a replacement non tattooed (which is the dumbest thing a ninja/assassin would have) arm? Cobra Comannder and Baroness look good, Red ninja viper is new to me (so I do not care, will either pass or if it looks good, may buy a few).

I can't say I'd go out of my way to customize Storm Shadow if I really end up not liking him in person. I honestly suspect that Storm Shadow will be one of those characters that get the Cap/Iron Man/Spidey/Wolverine/Deadpool treatment and we see multiple versions of him in the line. I figure we'll be seeing plenty of him and Snake-Eyes over the course of the line.

Here’s about the most detailed look at Red Ninjas from the other art. You can see on the arm guards right down to the dents are from Snake Eyes. He even has the same weapons from the Pulse exclusive. From that new art, Baroness seems a bit changed from her modelled after a porn Star from the poster, no purple hair tips although that could have just been dramatic lighting. I do like how her and the Commander have almost this scales on their armour. I’m in the like camp on Cobra Commander. Helmet doesn’t seem that bad. His uniform reminds me of around G.I. Joe # 100 when he returned to active duty mixed in with cues from Resolute, Renegades and stuff from America’s Elite with a bit more flair. There were rumours he and Baroness were going to be shown off at SDCC but will probably debut on a fan first Friday now. Also rumoured he will only have the helmet head, hooded will be released as a separate figure.

I’m not a Joe purist by any stretch, but, I like all of these designs. They’re different...some more than others...but I like what I see. I think SS’s mask and tats make him look like a scary motherfucker. I know he’s not the sleek sneaky looking guy he was in ARAH, but, it still looks SS-ish enough for me. I hope the actual Baroness figure retains the curves shown in the artwork

Different heads for Storm Shadow and the Ninjas would be an excellent solution to solve a lot of issues.

So once again I’ll be the odd man out and say I largely like the redesigns. Baroness is perfect, Cobra Commander is in one of his too garish designs for my taste emperor getups... but easily bought. Red Ninja Viper I hope has a second head to give some troop variation. I like the Storm Shadow, fuck all if I care about the redesign, I know I am getting a traditional later so bring on an update. Judging from my name here I like tattoos and Tommy doing a stint with the Yakuza seems appropriate to me and the traditional Japanese tattoos are a nice negative image of his original design, assuming he has bare forearms and this is a traditional Japanese suit. Looking forward to the seeing how he is executed. I think the face-mask is an interesting take I think if Hasbro chooses to make it removable it might be a stroke of brilliance. Overall digging the redesigns and looking forward to some hi-res photos.

Jeez take it easy on the gold-piping Commander you look like the el Presidente of a Banana Republic.

Red ninjas are fine, make them look good, but Hasbro should of learned by now G1 sells. It took them time to transition to a more G1 type of TF product with WFC/Earthrise, and a
Hasbro should know/realize that the same is true for G.I. Joe, the more G1 Joe you make the better. If Hasbro had decided to transition back G.I. Joe to its original form that of real world 12" military action figures, I would buy (especially if accurate and high quantity). I spent years building an original 64-70 12" Joe collection, main reason those toys are quality and real world.

We are all entitled to our preference for the character, but if we are talking about what would be dumb for a ninja, wearing an outfit that would identify you as a ninja would be first and foremost at the center of stupidity. Wearing a white uniform, on top of that, would be the next stupid ninja thing to do.

If you can accept a ninja dressed in an outfit that is the opposite of a ninja’s purpose of concealment, I fail to see how a tattoo is somehow offensive to the idea of a ninja.

Hydra Ninjas maybe but no because there is already existing precedence for more normal looking red ninjas in the Marvel Universe. They basically just done gone and fucked up what should be perfectly easy to make standard ninjas that everyone could want and use across so many franchises. I'll probably still buy one just because but I could have potentially wanted to buy dozens.

I would like to add some figures of The Hand into my Marvel Legends collection.

I don't know if I would get these for that though. I'm sure Marvel Legends team will be eventually getting around to it.

I think I'm only going to cherry pick this line. Destro and Snake Eyes are the only ones that I have interest in so far. That illustration of Baroness looks good too.

I definitely want a “Cobra” Ninja Viper. And not something that could also be the Hand. I also think this art sucks balls. It’s digitally smoothed meh. I have a feeling the actual toys will looks a lot better.

I can see that, then if the line bombs they place the blame back on fans who were trying to wait for ARAH designs. Most aren't opposed to getting new redesigns in 3.75/4" scale since we already got versions of the classic designs in those smaller scales years back. That's why I was hoping Classified would kick off with ARAH designs 1st, then release modern reinterpretations later.

I'm with you on cherry picking. It's just my compulsive collector's nature that scares me. So far, I've still been able to hold out on Roadblock and Duke.

Yeah, will see how this goes when we get actual pictures. The only one I think I am definitely in for is Baroness but I can easily be pushed into Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow and the Red Ninja. I'm a sucker for ninjas and it doesn't help that all things ninja has completely engulfed my kids' minds and they are as infatuated with them as I am or actually more. My son declared that he wants to be a ninja when he grows up.:D
But it's funny, the kids are very perceptive to these things. They've seen maybe a couple episodes of the GI Joe cartoon and some comic book pages. When I show them some of the designs in these new toys, they are like "who is that?" I tell them the character it is supposed to be and they say "it doesn't look right".

The Ninja head sculpts from Articulated Icons should work. There's a few they made that were based on V1 Storm Shadow. Also some of the Action Force alternate masked heads from Bobby Vala.

    The Hand

I wouldn't be surprised if the designer was taking cues off games like Army of 2 and Yakuza and thought those 2 looked cool paired with coat tails and a collar from the movie Storm Shadow design.

Since they went the coattail and detailed mask look, I would've just preferred seeing this(image from Yojoe):

    IMG_6203.JPG

Now of course, if the right forearm isn't covered up...the tattoo he SHOULD have, should be there...

Man, what the hell was that face shield supposed to be used for on that VvV Snake Eyes design? They drew it, but it wasn’t even on the figure, which just had the goggles.

Ah man it's been years, IIRC I think I remember reading that it was on an abandoned prototype. They may have just went with goggles since was easier to tool and since a new Snake Eyes(w/V2 knight visor) was on the way in the 7th wave.
