Scattered reports of wave 1 Siege deluxes appearing in Home Bargains for a tenner. May stop at one near me on the way home to replace some bits on my Skytread.

Haven't read the issue but have read the wiki entry on it and fully agree, making that retcon to the ark's mission is just a dick move and makes no sense. Remove all the autobot best warriors from battle in a mad suicide run? Might be the least optimusy thing I've seen. Even bayformer op cared about his troops more than that. The stuff with the clones sounded fine. Between that and rg1, i think the marvel stuff should be left alone.

That. And I mean, that's why (well done) reboots are great, you can do that in there, but if you want to retcon that's fine too but that's a different approach, you can't just change the characters, which, is what we got here, a total change, of, heck, everything. What ? Also, why ? Adding layers, revealing subplots unseens, well I'm in, but here, eh, nope.
The clones stuff was, there, I guess.
Imagine all the good stuff you can do with G1 Marvel, there's like 4 millions years worth of story. Literally. But no, turns out Optimus knew about Krakoa all along *le gasp*.

    Ha! Love this!

    Love this too!

Cheers, Brian! Yes, TR Scourge is staying in the collection for a long, long, long while.

Wooooooo! Hottest day of the year and I'm working from home with zero supervision. Maybe I can get all the essentials out of the way before the sun hits the garden and just have a real chill time.

Wait, what's that? Back to back meetings from 11am to 3pm?

    Shithammer.

That is an epic journey! :)  I remember seeing a Terror Drome in there, probably the same one! Awesome set, that was on my want's list for a long time, until I sold up my GI Joes. I decided that I needed to thin the collection down, and while I still like GI Joe, it is a line that takes up an awful lot of display/storage space, and the rubber o-rings on the vintage figures mean you're likely to have a lot of broken figures over time that need repairing... So it had to go. I still dream of having the space and funds for a Flagg though

Yep, Hasbro have been royally screwing over the UK since day 1. All those toys you could only dream of as a kid - Swoop, Shockwave, Blaster, Fort Max etc.
I'm sure I read somewhere that the UK has the 4th largest market for toy sales worldwide, behind the US, China and Japan, and yet Hasbro always seem to sell us short, with single figures and entire waves unreleased over here :(

So CHUG seems to be a gateway drug to other harder substances like Masterpieces. Before taking the plunge as I don't really want to buy two versions of characters (MP vs MP+) are the newer MP cars (if someone could define newer as well that would be great) immediately anime versions? For instance is the MP-39 Sunstreaker already the anime version, it looks like it is to me but I could be wrong. Are Takara going to give him an updated MP+ version? Same question with MP-25 Tracks but I think @Maz's article on another site answers that (looks very cartoon accuarate). @Maz reading some of your articles and they are very good, thank you!

Still loving how a bonafide set of A Listers in the Siege Decepticon crew is tempered by this deluge of absolute knobheads and superfluous bits of Trypticon.

It didn't help that their characters were so prominent in the UK comic. My £5 Poundstretcher Astro Magnum filled the gap for Shockwave but not having a Swoop hurt, I had the other four Dinobots and the sense of incompleteness that went with it. Sourcing a Swoop was one of the first things I did when I got on the internet in the mid 90s. Swaped a bunch of my Action Force figures for a Transformers lot from a collector in the States, so teenage me eventually got a Blaster and Swoop.

It's been speculated upon why Swoop didn't get released - too small for the price point, too brittle. I haven't seen any legislation or guidelines from the time backing that up, and if it was the case a figure like Hound would have been subject to something similar. Just Hasbro UK being Hasbro UK, I understand the UK market not being big enough for everything released in North America but some Hasbro decisions have been almost antagonistic. Skipping wave two of Combiner Wars a recent stand-out.

I imagine some middle manager saying 'Kids won't want *another* dinosaur, it's not like they even like dinosaurs...'.

Sure wasn't that the reason we went without Dinobots the Generations line for many many years? Someone figured robot dinosaurs weren't sellers.

In other news, that is Netflix Megatron reserved at a Smyth's 3 towns over... Can't resist that paint deco.

The Swoop and Divebomb comic arc really highlighted to me what we were missing. I remember walking into town (which was farther than I was allowed to go) to spend my pocket money on a Cutthroat, just because I wanted a birdformer. I had to walk as my pocket money wouldn't cover the cost of the toy and the bus fare.
