I see it more of a commentary on working class capitalism. The totem of money and social media at the base serving as the foundations of modern culture, propping up the gluttony of food and drink/alcohol as necessities turned indulgence, all congealing into this chimera of the service industry. The working class front of the smiling, down to Earth blue collar worker being just the top layer, the “front” as you would, to the machine of man and its institutionalized consumerism. We see it as a monster yet it is, just as the model is made of minifigs, really just us viewed from afar. One could even say it is the true condition of man, rather than the false belief of individuality and choice. We are all pieces of this creature, all made of the same material, we just abhor what we see as unattractive even if it is the very pillar of a modern, functioning society.

 

I actually ran across a random image of an Avatar Lego set online and did a double take. "Wait, what? Lego made The Last Airbender sets?" I asked myself. Sure enough, they did. Neat. As much as I loved the show, Lego sets based on the IP isn't something I'm drooling over (Figma or Figuarts based on Avatar would be a different story though  ).

Sometimes it's just Lego.

I did not know you could stick things into the Viking helmet, well at least if I wanted to I've got somewhere to stash all the spare pirate plumes I've got. Not entirely Viking looking, but it works if you want a commander for your small squad of dupes.

 

My Lego store is reopening tomorrow. I heard they won't have any new sets. I was going to order the Haunted House since its available for VIPs. It wouldn't let me order it. Do I have to wait until June 1?

 

I’d say that’s that’s your best option at the moment, since it could be a few months before the Lego stores get new stock.

 

Got my order placed for Haunted House this morning, dumb that it didn't go up until 9 AM EST and with no warning at that.

I'm actually waiting to see the Lambo Sain anouncement drop next month. That green might be the one from the Urus or the KOed Lepin Lambo set that was shown.

So here’s a stupid question. Can you buy mini figs, take them home and feel them up for the fig you want, and return the ones’ you get dups of, since it’s frowned upon to feel the bags in the store? I have an extra power ranger guy, peapod lady and NASA girl if anyone wants to trade.

Of course you can... but whether you should is up to your moral standards. I've seen someone return a few cases worth of Lego figure bags and the store took them. Now that is excessive. He clearly bought them to feel or wasn't able to sell them before the receipt expired.

Personally you shouldn't feel too bad. If you're feeling the bags in the store, unless an employee has a problem, it's a common practice to save us from losing money to the gambling aspect. Though perhaps it's further frowned upon during this time of the virus. Wear a fresh pair of gloves and toss them after if you're going to do it.

Another way to look at it is if you're able to feel and find ones you want, that's money/sales for the store but if you're not allowed to feel then some just walk away because gambling is no fun especially when you can get around that by feeling these compared to trading cards or other blind items.

 

The lack of Racoon Mario and Hammer Mario is disappointing. Though I suppose the designers considered it and didn't see any real way to incorporate those power up suits into collecting more coins or what not with the Bluetooth gimmick.

 

Seems the gimmick is really neutering this lines potential.
