Back in 2017 I saw this custom conversion of Transformers Crossovers Gray Hulk into a Classics-style Horri-Bull using parts from the Terri-Bull and Nightbeat Titan Masters by Thiengo. I liked the look of the resulting figure so much that I wanted to try it myself, but the Gray Hulk figure was quite expensive on the aftermarket at the time. After checking it again, the figure is no longer expensive as it once was, so I decided to go ahead and try it.

As I've never liked the idea of Headmasters, this figure can't detach its head, which allowed me to cut out the Nightbeat part of Thiengo's setup. Instead I simply removed the Gray Hulk head, secured Terri-Bull's TM head using a small screw, and filled the recess with several layers of Loctite Super Glue to secure it in place, which was then filed down to be flush with the rest of the neck panel and painted. The back of the Terri-Bull face was replaced with a gray mold of Nonnef's Perceptor set, which was bought on clearance before the mold was discontinued. The figure can still transform no problem.

 

Man! This really feels like horri-bull

 

Well the ingenuity credit obviously goes to Thiengo since he came up with the idea originally, it sure does look nice.

Like Horri-Bull says, "THEM'S FIGHTIN' WORDS!"

 

Add some pink and it's perfect

Simple yet extremely effective! Side note, it's a shame that this mold was never reused for official TF characters, but at least we have the bashing community to realize the greatness.

Looks fantastic. It doesn't even need the pink.

 

Gonna be honest, the "badge" mounting for the Decepticon symbol just kept feeling worse and worse to me, but there was really no good way to apply a reprolabel to the center of the chest, so tried applying them to his arms instead, not sure if that's working any better.

 

Maybe apply it directly in front of his head or only make it visible in alt mode. Maybe on top of his cannon.

 

it's already on top of his cannon in tank mode, but it feels weird to note have a sigil visible in robot mode. In front of his face did occur to me so might give that a try

 

Uh, totally forgot about.

But I like this one, too. Maybe just put it a couple of millimeters, two or three, more to the middle.

 

FWIW, I like the off-center Decepticon badge on his left pec.

But then, my taste is questionable. I'd be tempted to also put little Decepticon badges on each of the proximal parts of his fingers, then headcanon it so each of his massive punches would leave badgemarks stamped into his opponents' sheetmetal (like Barricade's knuckledusters or The Phantom's skull ring).

 

I dunno, it kinda feels like it was applied incorrectly



I can't think of any transformer that has its faction symbol in any place other than in the center of their body somewhere, or a place that'd achieve perfect symmetry like the arms or shoulders

I tried putting a WST Decepticon sigil on the black portion above his abs, but it didn't fit there either, either clear or silver backed.

 

OK, that was a little bit too much  
Now put it in the middle of where it is now and where it was before. Then it'll be perfect  
And there are so many Transformers which have there symbols on only one shoulder like a lot of Optimus Primes for example and there are quiet a bunch who have it on one side of their chest like wearing a cherif's star or military badges. So no worries there  

 

Well the paint arrived today, thankfully much sooner than quoted

In the end there wasn't THAT much to apply the pink to, looking at the various Horri-Bull depictions, but it still helps it stand out nicely.

 

It's surprising how that little bit of extra color (masterfully painted, by the way) really gives the whole thing more "oomph."
