Oh yeah...OH YEAH! eBay came through for me. I REALLY wanted the Porsche as a classic rally fan. So fucking hyped about the upcoming Lancia 037 coming up. The Camaro is a hell of a lot nicer than the F&F version too.
Ah shit. I need that 959! I’m not going out to find it and probably not paying for it eBay either so I might be fucked, lol.
Spotlight on the Porsche 959! It's based off of the 959 driven by René Merge and Dominique Lemoyne, that won the 1986 Paris-Dakar Rally. It's missing a lot of the actual sponsors but I get why. All the cars in this mix are amazing but this is what I really came for. Need need need more Group B cars in Car Culture! Only thing I don't like about this Porsche is the slick Real Riders. Wished it has some grooved tires.
Um I went off on a tangent... Discovered the Car Wars Kickstarter and started looking that up. And ended up getting Gaslands! A rules-set based around customising Hotwheels with guns!
It's dangerous to go alone - use this! Gaslands Refuelled Team Builder It's an online team builder that works like a giant calculator to help keep track of teams, cars, and spent cans.
There was a pic of a HW TMNT party wagon someone posted somewhere on TFW a while back. Are those still being found in stores or have they become scalper fodder? I’d dig one. Man...it’s been so long since I bought any Hot Wheels...
I'm not sure the case with the party van has really hit. I live close to Dallas & Walmart seems to have the case right before tmnt case out. Target might depending on location. Dollar general dies but I missed out on it. I think your chances are very high to obtain one throughout the rest of the year.
Some sweet antique store finds! I had this Mara Rover set when it first came out and I had to get it. Also, a 2002 Treasure Hunt, a '40 Ford drag truck!
I found one of those Mars rover sets going through some of my boxes of Hot Wheels stuff last night. Lol. I'm sure I got it when it was new in stores. I feel like I've had it FOREVER. I collected a lot of HW from 1999 through 2002. Nothing fancy, but I did my best of pick up all of the First Edition releases and some of the variations. The nice thing about Hot Wheels is that it's relatively easy on the wallet...provided you stick to retail prices and mainline stuff... I don't think I ever lucked out on any Treasure Hunts, though...bummer.
My first Treasure Hunt was Boneshaker from 2009, then the second was the Custom '53 Cadillac from 2010. This '40s Ford Drag Truck is now my oldest Treasure Hunt car. I didn't get my first Super until this year with the '88 Honda CRX.
I seem to remember trying to get those Treasure Hunt sets back in the day. I think it was JCPenny who sold an entire set in one box? Is that right? I think they were fuck-off expensive, though, and hard to come by.
Yeah! I never saw any of those either. Mostly because my parents never really went to JC Pennys. They were Nordstrom parents, haha! I only read about them in the past two years when I really got invested in trying to hunt for TH and STH cars.
Speaking of Treasure Hunts, if I haven't been able to find the green 2013 Camaro, is Ebay pretty much my only choice? Been to three Walmarts and a Target this week and nada for all of them. Pretty sure I saw it's assortment mates though.
I think that assortment is still around so it might be worth it still to look for it. Checked Lamley Group and the Scania Rally Truck has hit stores. Wooo! Definitely want that one.
Maybe I'll have to give Dollar General a shot. I honestly forgot they sold Hot Wheels, so maybe I'll get lucky.
