So this thought just occurred to me. And sorry if I'm just regurgitating what someone else has already said. But if we're getting a Netflix Series Exclusive Siege Bumblebe and Wheeljack are they Siege molds for those character that didn't get released during Siege? Think about that!

My best friend (and a fellow collector) got a chance to meet John Warden at a Botcon in past recent years and was able to ask him and other designers some questions. He found out that by the time we see anything on a store shelf they are already 3 years or more out on lines already having been designed and planned. That being said, maybe a Siege Bumblebee and Siege Wheeljack were already designed but just couldn't get released during Siege's main run. But now with this Walmart Exclusive Netflix run of Siege they can get them out there now.

While I suppose it's possible, if WJ and BB pre- Earth molds/designs existed, it's hard to see why they wouldn't have been brought forward in Siege Wave 5 (instead of Spinister and Crosshairs).

 

I give up on Hotlink. My Walmart is fucked up. Their computer said due on the 15th. They never got any. I stopped by today & their computer says due on the 18th (TODAY) and at the same time it says there are 0 in the warehouse to send. None are on the way. But they already got the deluxes last week & they're already all sold out except for 1 Hound.

So this is modern technology? This is how computers benefit us? This is how they put computers to use? I've never seen such complete incompetence before.




This post is more about the way they are implementing technology rather than a rant about a toy I can't find. I am shocked that in 2020 this is how they are using computer technology. This is not what I expected. I expected great things from this technology. A super fast, streamlined, efficient delivery system. Instead we got an amateur clown show. It just blows my mind. And on top of that, this isn't some tiny mom & pop shop, it's one of the biggest companies in the nation. And this is the best they can do????

Yeah, I am annoyed with how they handled the pre-orders. Make you wait for a pre-order for products that are already in the stores? Pfffft. I got a good price for Magnus by himself and a decent price for Sideswipe on EBay. Was happy to give individuals money rather than Wal-Mart, and even happier to cancel my pre-orders.

 

b...but Walmart got their money from the other guy first. If anything, you're just hiring a middleman to give the money to Walmart.

I look at it like guy 1 bought from Wal-Mart and guy 2 would have also bought from Wal-Mart, giving Wal-Mart 2 payments total. Instead guy 2 bought from guy 1, that which guy 1 didn't want, giving Wal-Mart 1 payment total.

 

Got my Hotlink and Megs today! They were the main quarry for this line, along with Mirage who I nabbed last week. If I can find a Scrap Iron and Chromia, fine. If not, no loss.

 

Yes, Wheeljack's character model in the show does seem to be of the Earthrise version. I just figured that if they could release Astrotrin early in the tail end of Siege even though he was clearly ment for Earthrise maybe there could be a Siege mold that wasn't released for him that they may be getting out to us through these Walmart exclusives. Again, just me speculating.

 

Why is Chromia selling now? She was the biggest peg warmer from Siege yet this new version is selling out. This new repaint looks like extremely lazy airbrush work. Take a regular Chromia, airbrush black paint all over it & BOOM! You're done! If you like the Netflix repaints like Chromia & Sideswipe go get an airbrush & go to town on all your Transformers.

SIMPLE FACT: Any of you can do that to any toy without even knowing how to use an airbrush. All you really need to know is that you have to rinse the paint out of the airbrush when you are done by simply running water through it in your kitchen or bathroom sink. Now you're all entry level customizers! Congratulations!  I expect to see you all in Radicons in the near future.

 

Unless the Siege plan was always what we got in Earthrise with some alternate vehicle tooling.

I'm less certain that the Bumblebee on the show can become an earth car but we might NOT GET an earth Bumblebee before WFC3 and the Selects Bug Bite could become a flying saucer.

 

Considering the netflix line only exists to be a tie in to the netflix series, and wheeljack in the netflix series is the earthrise figure, there's really not much to speculate for wheeljack. Bumblebee on the other hand is anybodies guess because all we've seen of him is that his show model, idw character model and wfc marketing art are all based on the same design.

I've long held the theory that earthrise Wheeljack is exactly what we would have gotten in siege, but there's at least one interview out there where Warden claims that Wheeljack would have been the hover box if he had won. The reason I doubt this is that if siege had not gotten extended and if Spinister and Wheeljack were both earthrise wave 1 then they would have only released 1 wave after Impactor and Mirage. Most post g1 material that uses cybertronian modes also has Wheeljack as a car for his cybertronian mode and honestly the only three molds that were actually sunbow accurate cybertronian modes in siege were Springer, Shockwave (without the extra bits) and Apeface. Everyone else whose cybertronian form was shown in sunbow and got a siege figure did not look like their sunbow alt modes. The use of earthrise Wheeljack in the netflix show further solidifies this theory in my opinion.

 

What are the odds of the Impactor being a redeco of the Decepticon version from the 3-pack? I just rewatched the Netflix series trailer and the Impactor shown has the general release head but sports the Decepticon logo. Id rather have the gladiator head version than a redeco of the autobot version with a Decepticon logo.

 

That's what I was thinking. Stays on model, uses a version in the show, and offers a version not readily available to many people without actually taking away the uniqueness of the exclusive.

 

Though I understand the logic, I don't completely buy it. We didn't see Cybertron modes for most of the characters in G1, so we're dealing with a small sample size. And Wheeljack could get a hover van mode that is different from what was in the cartoon, just as the tetrajets are off model from the series but still recognizably tetrajets.
