only my 2nd IF figure, 1st being Slipstream. 3rd will be CJ and has been ordered and on it's way to me. also have PT KO of Shockwave, but it's a KO so doesn't really count i guess.

considering pickup up Tarn as the bot looks sweet as a figure, but i have no attachment to the character and i don't really care for the alt mode, so i've been on the fence on pulling the trigger. :p

I think you should track down Cygnus and Lord Scorpion. In my opinion I feel both of these are the best releases from IF with both modes being amazing.

i've been looking at Cygnus, but hard to find and when available, is pricey. also the nose cone in alt mode bothers me.

i'll have a look for Lord Scorpion, don't know that figure. thx

Anyone know a way to prevent IF figures' joints from cracking or stressing? I've owned quite a few of their figures and transform them quite regularly and have not a tendency for it to happen especially on ball joints

Maybe just hold out on Cygnus and get Darkness Cygnus, the SG recolour.

It was only a matter of time, Hound.
Decepticons are obsessed with combining. Put two in a room and within seconds one will be standing on the other's shoulders. Fact.

Yeah, I don’t blame you. And in my opinion this is one of the best version of Jetfire ever released.

mine does not have cracks and i am sorry yours does. but it is a fairly common mold. try reaching out to IF they will eventually respond with help it will just take a long time.

or worst case you can just fix it yourself. it is an easy fix and if you want help i could walk your through it.

Go for it. You could have him in altmode as a pet dragon for your bigger bots.

agreed, i'm not even familiar at all with the figure or the series, but i had seen the Perfect Effect version and was in awe! i would have liked to buy one, but that figure is too big for me, as well as the price tag.

this IF release is perfect in addressing both those issues for me, and it is amazingly close to the larger size PE one so a great down sized alternative!

if you are collecting larger scale, you might want to look at the PE version and consider that.

I use silicon oil at the first sign of resistance in the joints.

im sorry i missed this post the first time. but like what was said earlier just work in a few drops of silicon oil i just use 3 in 1 brand personally.

if that doesnt work just take a second to clean up the actual joint that is having an issue.

also the main reason these bots do have scary tight joints is because of the flashing on the post mounts most of the time. that little bit of flash and the heavy hand those little chinese assemblers are using can create stress cracks.

but a little bit of effort goes a long way. my dai had stupid crazy tight arms and flaps. i took him apart and cleaned off any flash and greased him up and now he is smooth as glass.

Thanks guys. BTW, how do you take care of stress marks? I've heard putting in boiling water for ~10 seconds should make the plastic pliable enough to fix (I think?), but I'm worried about the effect it would have on a part that has stress marks and paint on it

a blow dryer set to warm instead of hot works. just heat the part up and they normally just fade away.
