Yeah, I really don’t get why there’s price differences, but I wouldn’t want to order on eBay cause in 6 months the listing’ll be gone. At least on the site there’s a record of the purchase.

Yes that’s true I guess, again had forgotten about the perils of eBay preorders (almost got burnt a year or two back with a MOTUC figure)...

again I’m sure this has been discussed ad infinitum on this here thread, but what’s the ETA on this fella (taking into account: Fanstoys; global epidemic; etc)? I read October at last count

October is still the expected release right now. Things change, obviously, but FT seems to be at almost full output by the sound of things.

    Thanks

PS I stand corrected about the Baba site prices, an unadvertised ‘discount’ is applied at checkout, making their prices about £2 cheaper than via eBay...

Does anyone have experience of PayPal ‘pay after delivery’? I used it recently to buy a few recent Black Series figs, assuming it was literally as the name suggested, but it seems it’s more a 14- day loan from PayPal, ie one that wouldn’t cover a normal pre-order period. Any ideas anyone?

I doubt it’s the most anticipated. It probably is in the FT bubble, but there certainly are other figures that are probably more anticipated.

Used it loads. It's essentially a safety net. You undertake to pay, PayPal pay your seller so they send it, you don't actually part with any cash until 14 days after you receive the item (based on immediate dispatch and normal postage times). Not gonna be November when they take the funds unfortunately

    Thanks.
So to clarify, for this preorder how would it likely work? PayPal take the money 14 days after the item eventually ships (whenever that ends up being, Oct/Nov), or 14 days after placing the pre-order?
I assume the former, but sorry if I’m being dim - guessing this PAD option is usually for in-stock items so the terms don’t quite seem to fit

Managed to preorder the Blitzwing, but I missed out on this one, so hoping there's more preorders available soon

I do all my preorders at Toy Dojo and pay my 100% deposit up front. That way I know what I’m paying and don’t have to worry about it.

Only time it hasn’t worked out is Berserk... but that isn’t TD’s fault, since FT rejiggered the price.

Store credit towards my next purchase? Yes, please! Who’s up for 100% deposit pre-order next?

MP Astrotrain is a major need for myself as far as my collection goes. I also pre-ordered Blitzwing, but have they showed any update on him?

I can't wait for this one. I'm wondering if I ordered one or two. This hobby has definitely spent a pretty penny.

I used to prefer doing pre-orders that way but these days I'm afraid of letting buyer protection run out. Even with the trustworthy sellers - this whole pandemic situation has made me question just how durable these retailers are and I'd hate to have a bunch of pre-order money lost to an out of business store.

Same here, also concerned about potential side effects from conflicts between governments, would feel slightly more comfortable if the factories and retailers were located in the Hong Kong region, but I have no idea where.

Mostly Guongdong, some Tianjin, Shanghai. Hong Kong's typically become too expensive and given political tensions, probably no better than being in PRC, just for the risk of martial law or outright takeover rather than a shipping shutdown.

I am not very familiar with the matter... Why would Hong Kong be better than China's main land?

Wasn't Hong Kong affected by the pandemic?

Hong Kong operates under different laws - it was part of the deal when the UK left and returned control to PRC. I'm not sure why that matters for toy buying, but that's what he was talking about. Nothing to do with the pandemic.
