I've always been a fan of Kapow. Good prices and service. Until one of my Bluestreak+ faces didn't fit. They still haven't solved it, but keep promising that they'll replace the faulty face. I've switched to TFS-Express for Smokescreen+ and everything went smooth, so don't know how their service is, but this one transaction went fine. Until Kapow solves my Bluestreak+ issue, I'm buying from TFS-Express, when Amazon Japan isn't an option.
So what’s the situation with Amazon Japan? I heard orders were getting canceled or pushed way out. Is it still safe to order from them?
As far as I can see amazon itself hasn'tput up the newest MP/MPM stuff. All my other Pos are active and I'm pretty sure you can still order Tigatron. Only delay I've gotten is my Mafex Batman and I've known about that since March.
AJ's been working without a hitch (at least to the U.S. and via DHL). Still receiving packages in 2 days from Japan to my doorstep....knock on wood. If an upcoming item is getting delayed, it's not AJ's fault, but an issue with the factory and/or manufacturer. Lots of things have been getting delayed...Bandai, Takara, everyone. Just wondering why AJ hasn't listed Arcee yet. Maybe they got tired of taking MP-quality returns for broken knee joints, cracked parts, and other things. You talking about the Mafex Dark Knight (Frank Miller)? Haven't been paying attention to release dates...I think it's coming end of this month/beginning of June, along with Mafex Thor. Can't wait.
The Hush Batman that was originally due last month, now the end of this one I could see that, it's totally different color wise from 51 and would fit with her articulation.
Any guesses on how much her shipping would likely run with DHL from Japan to America? I'm weighing ordering through Pulse vs through AmiAmi, as AmiAmi's got the lower starting price, but with the international shipping issues that've been going on this year, I'm more gunshy about importing than I normally would be and wondering how much of savings there would really be.
It's difficult to say. She's not very big and DHL shipping to U.S. is relatively cheap compared to Europe but due to COVID-19, they've upped their rates across the board to cope with increasing demand of their services. That said, there really aren't any other options right now from Japan. AirMail, SAL and EMS are currently suspended until further notice but if things start to ease by time of release, then AmiAmi may still be a cheaper option. AmiAmi will currently hold an item for up to 60 days before shipping, should you choose another shipping option. After that, I think it defaults to DHL.
It depends, the 4 months should be over in July, and I'm guessing Japan will be in a better position to continue by December, than other places. DHL is about 2300 shipping on AJP, probably tack on 1500-2000 at other places
There are some things that make me think AJ is transferring the cost of all those returns and that fantastic customer service back to us...they've started jacking up shipping prices on select small items, too. They're charging 3,532 Yen on some of the more popular Mafex and Medicos figures now. DHL shipping is awesome, but man, I miss the days when everything was 1,200 Yen.
It is probably because DHL has increased their cost, so Amazon Japan is passing the increased cost on.
It's still better price wise and shipping wise than EMS. 1200 yen is was probably cheaper than SAL for a lot of the things we have ordered. Right now the only wats out of Japan are Boat and DHL, maybe the price will adjust when the other methods are online again.
If Amazon JP doesn’t have her up by Tuesday of this week, I’m gonna bite the bullet and get my two from HLJ.
