I like that with the Demon Bull King set, they've managed to find a new use for Metalbeard's... beard. That's the good-'ole Lego spirit I like to see. Also, I'm seeing red pumpkins for paper lanterns. I might like that more than the translucent red minifig heads they were previously using in Ninjago.
I'm surprised no one posted this yet. 3 new panels + rotors (bottom of the door) + rims Only thing I haven't figured out is the colour. It looks like a mix between Lime and Olive green.
There we go. That's the thing I've been saving for this year. And going by the images of the actual car, it looks like it'll be a new colour for Lego. It's brighter than the real deal, but it looks like they've settled on something similar to their lime green, but metallic, which is why it looks "off".
yea the prices really got me too but then i'm looking at the sets and they're all full of extra stuff so it kinda balances out...for me at least. i mean the monkey king mech comes with a flying cloud, smaller mech, and a fish shop. heck most of the sets come with multiple smaller vehicles and other shops. still pricey but they all seem to come with a lot of stuff. plus...these mechs are pretty big... i don't have any of the ninjago mechs so to me....that's huge
Just putting it in the new page so people see it. Metallic Green, if it's the same one from the early 2000's 4x4 off roader they did, would be much darker than what is actually shown.
i was wondering which one they were going with when they dropped the rumor of it being a lambo, i never did get the porsche ugh, had dreams of making it a remote control car lol it looks pretty big, will be awhile before we see comparison pics to other mechs but it's very ornate it's gotta be significantly bigger for the $70 price increase bcuz that fish shop does not justify it 80012 Monkey King Warrior Mech 1,629 pieces, RRP: CNY 1.299,00/EUR 129,00/USD 149,99 i mean it's only 100+ off from being double so we'll see
Seriously considering the Sian, didn't like the other previous offerings. Here's the actual car that Supercar Blondie (Alex) has shown on her channel Going to squirrel my funds for this one and trim off my previous wants. Edit: Found a Eurobricks thread on the Sian. Price according to XE rates (as of now): 380 Euros, $411.15 USD, $580.20 CDN 42115 - Lamborghini Speculation Topic
The Monkey King LEGO® mech toy measures over 15” (40cm) high, 9” (23cm) long and 16” (42cm) wide and this magnificent playset combines brilliantly with other LEGO Monkie Kid™ building toys for even more action. Titan Mech toy measures over 14” (37cm) high, 5” (15cm) long and 13” (35cm) wide. +cloth/plastic parts +more detail +more articulation +side build +119 lacquered gold parts (compared to the usual pearl gold) I'm not saying the price is fully justifiable (I would only buy it with VIP discount), but there are elements which clearly prove this.
I kinda want that Mech to de-Monkey-ize it. Monkie Kid may look stupid as hell, but a great robot is a great robot.
I get that. I was more referring to the fact that most of the sets are in a high price range. Heck, the cheapest one (polybag aside) is $35. The next one up is $50. Yes, they look well worth their price, but I wouldn't have minded some more sets in the $10-$20 bracket. More "impulse buy" sort of things.
oh i agree. most of what i own are the lower price point kinda sets. maybe the next batch of sets will have something more affordable
The GT-R came in. Very cool build. I didn't use the Livery stickers and cut out the entirety of the headlights and used them. I'll probably cut the hood vents out of the Livery as well and use them on the white hood I ordered. I also ordered a few of the other parts I needed for this car. Now to contemplate the Lamborghini some more.. Oh, and that Monkey Kid Mech looks awesome.
If his colours were darker, it's not too far off from the "Lu Bu" Reaper skin in Overwatch, owing to the fact that both are based on traditional Chinese armour stylings. Might give you some ideas for a de-monkeyed head shape. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/dOar3w People were strongly leaning towards the Sian, because when Lego first teased the project, their image used a shape similar to its distinctive "Flux Capacitor" headlights.
The Monkey Kid stuff all looks fantastic, but it sucks that there's not really any sets on the cheaper end. I may pick up the $30 one, but that's it
Turns out you were right. Lego put up the instructions on their website so I went ahead and built the basic frame of the Monkey mech. There are a pair of mixel balljoints behind the knee to keep it locked, but it seems like an easy removal. The wrists surprisingly use hidden balljoints for rotation, rather than technic pins. As for the hips, at this point that technique has essentially become the standard for large mechs until they say "ok, let's make a dedicated improved piece for this".
It's similar to how Voltron used embedded balljoints for the lion hips. Way tighter than Technic friction pins.
