Then damn, that's a fat fuckin' price tag even for a box set. I thought "pack size" factored into the unit price but it doesn't, unless 8 Bumblebees go for 20 all together.

Interested to see what, if any, justification for balloon in price will be. Though FWIW, by conversion alone that puts SS Leaders at $60 USD, which I believe their US retail is $50, so Devs will, just as a loose estimate, maybe be more like $400? That's still pretty fucking absurd.

Unless of course the listing is simply wrong.

I can’t imagine hasbro is going to price a boxset at roughly 1.6x the cost of the individual releases, even with additional parts it’s still not worth the cost of 3-4 other figures. This has gotta be some sort of mistake and if it’s not, this thing is gonna have to see some heavy discounts before it starts selling

Awesome. I’ve got two pieces left to complete, but I would totally buy a box set so I can have my current figures in bot mode and the set in combined.

I mean...it would be screen accurate, right? :p

I could see this having been an SDCC exclusive thats exploring other avenues now SDCC isn’t happening.
I’d expect some kind of ‘premium’ deco to this to encourage those of us who supported the releases this far have some bait to open their wallet again.

I’m still hoping once some legit copies of Overload are available we’ll see DNA tackle some upgrade parts for the combined mode so we aren’t left at the mercy of a boxset release for any potential extra parts.

I'd love if they made this set of constructicons grundgy and worn as far as paint schemes go

I'm guessing that price is after conversion from USD to British Pound or vice versa. At current MSRP, the full set goes for $260 USD. With conversion (the GBP is higher), it's around $288-ish, which is $18.00. That's roughly the current conversion rate. So, it looks like the set is going for MSRP, more or less. Two to a case would bring the total to $520.00 USD.

I really, really doubt the balls will be there. It would make headlines, Hasbro would have a shitload of backlash and memes, they don’t want that publicity headache. I can imagine it now:

Headline: Hasbro announces Studio Series Devastator pack with screen accurate balls for $280

Meme: “Toy companies literally making hundreds of dollars off of plastic robot balls. #America”

This better not be any different from the ones we\'re buying separately or I\'m going to be sooooooo mad! I\'ve already been wasting my money on this horrible figure so if they fixed him to go on all fours or have better paint or the balls im going to be so irritated!

it better be exactly the same just in a 8 in one set

So you’re wasting money on horrible figures and you don’t want this to be fixed because that’ll be bad?

    lmao

Just a shot in the dark but maybe better paint, Skipjack instead of Rampage, and a pair of small static figures of everyone’s favourite imbeciles?

If they were attached on a string like fuzzy dice so that you could recreate the scene of them smacking into each other I’d be happy.

This is great news for the people who missed out on some of the earlier figures. I've kept up with the individual figure releases so I must admit if the new set has better paint apps or extra parts I might be just a little jealous but I still say this is a good move for Hasbro.

I see what you're saying, but I don't think that's quite his exact point. (It's part of it, though.)

I think it's more that he spent time (irreplaceable), as well as money, plus his own personal resources "correcting" the stock figures as they are out of the box. To get the set of eight in one easy to obtain set (because a lot of locations haven't gotten all of the Constructicons, and if they did, it was one or two cases and never to be seen again and another collector got 'em first.) For example:
and after all of that, if they'd heavily modify them and/or add missing accessories after the rest of us have spent time and money putting the set together over a year, it kind of grinds one's gears.

I do see your point, though. If they can be bettered, they should be, and it would be selfish not to want a better product in general.

Either way, this works out for everyone in the end and Hasbro makes some money/pays bills and checks. Can't really complain considering the alternative.

I do like me some box sets though. But I also kinda hope this just a bunch of rando Decepticon recolours. Maybe not too serious cause people want Demolisher separately but I’d be down for any ideas. Maybe something in Diaclone colours, that could look really cool.

I don't know if the world could handle a green and purple set. It's one of those things that sounds good on paper, but it might end up like the whole dividing by zero/end of the universe thing. lol
