I play both of these games and I was wondering if any members here play and what do you prefer and why?

World of Tanks but I really play only casually. I don't have any tank above tier 4. :D

I guess I could say I'm a veteran World of Tanks Xbox One EU player since 2015 - but due to migration from EU to the Philippines Dec 2018,
I migrated from WOT console to WOT PC Asia, starting all the way from scratch again. (since WOT Xbox in South East Asia is a non-existent thing).
For a short while I tried Warthunder on PC because I prefer its visuals/aesthetic a bit,
but the gameplay and UI didn't quite connect with me - probably due to me being a bungling noob to it as well.

My original interest in World of Tanks is because of my interest in WW2 tanks and their history - not so much because of it being an online shooter.
I have never been interested in online shooters, but WOT is an exception because it allows online play within a team without actual
    team/platoon play.

As a result of this niche interest, I play primarily tiers 5,6,7,8 and I have zero interest in high tiers since most tanks there are cold war era stuff.
My play focus tends to be turretless TD's, but my WOT origins started racing around with the Pz Kpfw 3 like a tier 4 "Cromwell", so I know about
map awareness and dexterity. My all-time favorite tank is the Jagdpanzer IV; because of its design and of course the crazy DPM and camo values.

Anyway, I was quite the decent player on Xbox. Here's my stats/account Knot3D: World of Tanks on Console
and my stats on wotinfo.net: WOTINFO - Advanced player stats: wn7, wn8, efficiency

    Winrate 56.86%
    WN8 2343.72 but in WN8C I was purple already
    DMG caused/received ratio 2.64
    Kill/Death ratio 3.03

    Epic Medals
    - RadleyWalters x38
    - Pools x6
    - Kolobanovs x10
    - Devastator x124

WOT PC is similar but still quite a different beast. Gosh, I hate the clown cars (wheeled vehicles). I'm glad the supposed 2020 rebalance is looking
promising, but at this point I still definitely prefer WOT console over PC.

My WOT PC account is the same Knot3D GT: WOTINFO - Advanced player stats: wn7, wn8, efficiency
Indeed, still modest newbie stats there.

For anyone interested to see my WOT adventures, here's my youtube channel which still has my WOT Xbox videos as well: Knot3D _
My most EPIC game ever is probably this Jagdpanzer IV replay on Xbox in which I scored one of my 10 Kolobanov's medals, 8 kills and I caused 6112 damage,
my all-time Jagdpanzer IV damage record:

And a more modest WOT PC adventure on Sandriver:

I have a shitty win rate on WoT 44,56% or something, but I find out that in WT I get better win rates. I also rack out more kills in that game due to the "one shot one kill" mechanic, where instead of hammering at other tanks instead like WoT.

More than once I got detracked and ended up killing multiple tanks before getting destroyed.

I remember that two of my best games where when I using an M10 nailed 8 tanks from the other side alone and another with an He-177 (heavy bomber)wiped out 90% of the enemy team.

I actually did decent for a noob in Warthunder...but what irked me a bit that regularly, I couldnt quite grasp whether a good game result was due to my efforts or just sheer luck. I really find the concept of spotting enemy tanks, purely by means of ingame sight interesting....but with computer graphics, I find it a bit iffy in practice. But what really kills Warthunder for me is the user interface...sigh.

World of Tanks' biggest sin is RNG imo. You can sort of alleviate the problem of getting detracked with a good 100 percent crew and having conmon crew skills like BIA and Repairs, but the randomizer in WOT is quite frequently just frustrating.

Personally, I usually try to crank up the winrate bit by bit, by means of map awareness and reading the battle scenario. This way you can sort of anticipate and guestimate your best odds to turn the tide of a battle seemingly lost. I mean, on Xbox I reached a near 57 percent winrate after 23000 battles played - I am now at 50.81 percent on PC with nearly 2500 battles played....so yeah...it should be possible to climb up bit by bit.

I always try to remind teammates to not over-stretch; Ergo, to not push beyond the range of friendly support fire. And last but certainly not least ; try to run back to defend base often; shooting capping enemy tanks is always extra XP as they are just like sitting ducks in a circle.

If you get a handle of the mechanics in WT you can kill shit way above your weigh class. You just need to know where to hit (modules) For example, the King Tiger (Porsche turret) has a lot of ammo stored in the turret. If you nail it on it´s sides, there´s a 90% chance it will make it´s turret pop, regardless of what hits it. That´s why with Shermans 76 mm or Hellcats, I have killed Tigers that way.

Trying that in WoT is just frustrating.

And there are videos of M1 Abrams tanks being killed by WWII armor!

That said, there have been many many times I got snipped from across the map by another King Tiger or some tank with a really potent gun.

I play Tanks and Warships on console. I'm mediocre at World of tanks, but I'm not terrible at World of Warships.

    I play for fun

You mean the Road to Berlin PVE thingy?

Probably, but we're probably in totally different time zones due to me being located in the Philippines now.
Gosh, WOT console has had the IS2-shielded for years already now.

I caved in and got two new premium tanks, the Primo Victoria and the Skorpion. I´m a huge Sabaton fan and I also like obscure WWII "paper panzers" like the Waffentragger series.

I figured since I am stuck at home to put some money into WoT and WT, since they are offering good discounts, and have some fun.

Yeah, I played it for a bit and that event is kinda bullshit. The last three bosses and a ludicrous amount of HP and several escort tanks. And if what people tell on the chat is true, one of the final bosses is a fucking Maus. And even if you win, you don´t get many points.

Fuck that, I was hoping it would be a fun event, not a fuckfest.

I haven't even tried this mode, but seeing your reaction and RagingRaptor's reaction, I might not even bother. Matchmaking in random battles has been brutal since the weekend. SMH, it's not like my skill suddenly dropped mega levels, but I am pulling 2300 WN8 on average and still barely manage 40 percent winrate. Oh well, as long as I can keep the overall winrate north of 51 I'm ok. Anyway, I hope they bring in more maps soon like this Berlin map but also Pearl River. Map rotation has been quite repetitive ..le sigh...

Well, I decided to grind the event and scored the IS-2S. I think they made the final mission easier and instead of 3 Commander tanks, you only have two nerfed Maus.

I love how people flood my chat, call me bot and other funny names, tell me to uninstall my game yadyadya, when they get pissy that I don´t play that well (newsflash, I play for fun, I really don´t give a shit).

What do they expect to accomplish here exactly?

It's just people venting frustration - usually after a long streak of bad games. Don't let it faze you. I try to avoid weekend play these days.

And indeed, the E-25 little roach it is, but I haven't had a good game in it yet ( as opposed to my E-25 on my past past WOT Xbox account ).

However, I do try to play as best as I can - ergo; not just damage farming, but sometimes I forego more dmg for a victory, because I know it can mean a lot to teammates who might have had a loss streak prior or they just died after having put up a fantastic effort.

I'm slowly crawling up the stats ladder by now...at 51.4 percent overall winrate at the moment with a 1429 WN8. Still ways off my Xbox account 56.9 WR and 2341 WN8....but hey progress is progress.

I don´t I actually find it hilarious, usually my response in passive aggressive mode only pisses them off even more.

Fury is for sale on the Premium store. It´s a slightly worse reskinned M4E8, but hey if you liked the film, go for it.
