    I'll have to think about that, but I only did it for the Heisei series because people made a lot of dumb decisions.

    This was back in 2015 when I first started my channel before I got better lighting and audio stuff as I was reviewing the entire Godzilla franchise at the time. It was fun, but man was it a learning curve.

    I still stand by the personal notion that G14 is a masterful Godzilla film with, to me, the absolute best cinematography in the franchise. I liked the kind of simple and grounded story about a man simply trying to get back to his family, but also has a duty as a soldier to help protect mankind from these skyscraper sized creatures. The sound design was excellent, sense of scale and weight was perfect, the Muto pair were a nice and fresh addition to the ever growing roster of Kaiju, and Legendary Godzilla himself immediately felt like a part of the nuclear family the second he stomped on screen. He was expertly done, and is now one of my favorite incarnations of the character ever created.

    I really do love G14 a ton. It was wasn’t as gritty and horrific as its absolutely sublime trailers and TV spots made it out to be, but I honestly don’t really mind? I’m glad to have a more heroic Godzilla after there not having been one in a long ass time. So yeah, wonderful movie imo. If only the Blu-ray wasn’t so goddamn dark, like that’s absolutely ridiculous; the theatrical version wasn’t nearly as pitch black as the home release. Hopefully we can get a 4K cut at some point also.

    I love KoTM to bits, but man I just really, really like G14.

    One thing I'll always love about it is the look of pure and utter disdain on Godzilla's face right before he turns and finally, finally, swats that annoying flyer out of the air.

    Godzilla’s facial expressions were definitely on point in both G14 and KoTM, where it was such a mood to see him literally done with everyone’s shit the entire way through G14, to pure hatred and rage towards the golden hydra in the sequel.
