To be fair, Crosscut was in the previous IDW continuity, and may show up again in the new one someday. Pretty sure Delta Magnus appeared, too, at one point so they did get some use. They never got there own series or anything, but I just don't see a "Team Diaclone" book ever happening and most of the time, yeah, why use Delta Magnus when you can just use the much more popular and recognizable Ultra Magnus?

And anyway, I don't disagree that it's cool that Spinout has memories of the character he was in pre-Transformers history, it certainly is a cool Easter egg for a Takara toy bio. But beyond that if he's to have universal appeal I do think he needs more than that for people to care about what kind of character he is now.

I actually wish they kept Ultra Magnus in his original Diaclone colors for the movie and Season 3 instead of the color scheme we're used to now.

Nova loves toys and hates comic book writers with '"'agendas'"', so they'd be saying the complete opposite if Nautica's profile had been written in Japanese on the back of a box and James Roberts had penned this Spinout origin for an OC.

I guess they wanted something that matched the others more. The red and blue is super royal. Ultra Magnus has that white and softer tones that the other season 3 guys had.

True. I just think he would've stood out from the rest. And he just looks cooler.

Right now, BBTS has Delta Magnus for $169. I'm severely tempted to get him, but I don't have much room anywhere for his box (I keep all my MP Transformers and Hot Toys boxes).

I still just might get him anyways. That price is too good to turn down.

Oh yeah I agree he’s really cool. And the Takara one is pretty, I just don’t like the figure that much.

They probably mean Micro-Changers, the toyline that the original mini-bots (Bumblebee, Brawn, etc.), tape bots (Frumble, Ravage, etc.) , Megtraon, and Soundwave originally came from before their toys were repurposed as Transformers.

    Oh.
I'm aware of "Micro Change", a sub-series of Microman and its contribution, I just was confused about "Micro-Chargers."
I thought they were thinking of pre-Transformers Mini-spies, also made by Takara, and I can't think of the line's title right now.

FYI, the Mini-Spies were from a line called "meka senshi" (translated: Mecha Warriors), says the TFWiki.

Doubt he s that price now, they ve been complaint about the price increasing. Not as bad as Primal, but considering you could pick him up for $75-85 at one point.

I just bought a second Delta Magnus from AE for $118. It will ship with quite a few other things I've been waiting for. I think I'm going to go with RK for Spinout though. Seems to be the best bet with it being a TTM exclusive in Japan.

    Talk:Spin-Out (G1) - Transformers Wiki

English translation from his Japanese bio by some Takara employee.

    (translation by Star-Spangled Sam)

Profile: Spin-out is truly one of a kind. Originally a lifeless war machine known as a “Car Robot”, he was granted true life by an ancient Cybertronian supercomputer, becoming a super robot life-form. Though impulsive and hot-blooded, he has a strong loyalty towards Earthlings, showing a more gentle side around them. Having clear memories of his original existence, he harbours doubts regarding his ability to fight without the directions of a pilot.

Spin-out’s Lamborghini Countach LP500S vehicle mode speaks to the paradoxical nature of the mystery of his home universe. This is outlined below.

from the private records of Delta Magnus

Our plan to assault and secure the ancient Cybertronian Interstellar Storage Installation Diadem, and the vast quantities of data it holds, had taken a truly dismal turn. In the ensuing melee with the combined Decepticon/Quintesson forces… most of the precious data was lost. Of course, I’m delighted that Cordon was able to restore his memories of his origins, but it appears he has no desire to install them. What evidence we were able to recover was not what we expected. Our understanding of Cybertron’s history has been well and truly shaken. Discovered using the mysterious doctrines of Diadem, we found a single robot, Spin-Out, who had been frozen in a capsule for nearly ten million years. This means that Autobots who turn into Earth vehicles have existed in this universe for aeons!

What could this mean? According to the records of Diadem’s artificial brain, Anterior Zeta, Spin-Out is a war machine from the Earth of another dimension, one that became adrift in time and space and landed in our past. “Diaclone” - That is the name of the force he had once belonged to. Through analysis of his spaceship, Zeta came to learn of both Diaclone and their enemies, the “Waruder”, and took interest in their history. Perhaps Anterior Zeta had already lost control, or had been taken over… Regardless, Zeta entrusted to we Cybertronians the mission of Diaclone in secret. The ability to sense Waruders, as well as a genetic command to make their extinction our number one priority had been drawn up, and disseminated using the Cybetronian global repair network. Though it was difficult to believe that our species had been altered this way, there was already evidence for it. The Blue Streak Incident, where Streak went rogue following an encounter with the Waruder probe Insector, was proof. We must create countermeasures! If the Waruder are truly such a menace, how should we fight them? Whatever strategy we come up with, it must be one of our own volition!

So the only difference (colour aside) from Cordon is that he has Sunstreakers gun?
