Was working yesterday and stocking shelves, an older lady came up and thank’d me/the Walmart employees stocking shelves for our hard work during this crisis. After telling her your welcome and she left I honestly wanted to cry. I’ve been feeling mentally, emotionally, & physically stressed, depressed, & anxious thanks to the virus and the uncertainty/unknowns it brings (I’ve been having a hard time sleeping, getting out of bed, & eating). On top of other drama going on at work earlier that day.
Y’all are doing your part, and you’ve earned whatever free relaxation time you get during these uncertain times. Whenever you feel anxious, take pride and comfort in that. Just wash your hands with soap often, don’t touch your face with unwashed hands, and social distance when feasible; that’s the best we can do. Thank you for being the backbone of our society! I’d certainly be out of groceries by now if people like you weren’t here. Stay safe
Thanks it means a lot to get some positive reinforcement and feedback right now. Yeah I’ve been washing my hands (a little too much ) to the point of bleeding. Can’t wait to get a day off honestly I’ve got one more day before I get some time off (which I desperately need). But on the bright side next month we’ll be getting two bonuses on top of the one I just got so extra money is another good motivator.
First time doing a live call to the girl I'm talking to. For over a month we've gone from messages once a day, to twice a day, to audios and chats 4 to 5 times a day for 2 or more hours straight. Finally called her. She was worried there would be a language problem, but...there was NO problem at all. I was thinking it was maybe going to be a 30min call because she gets shy... ...and it turned into a 4 hour call with very little translation issues. The ones we did have were quickly dealt with, and her sense of humor was even sharper than I expected. Surprisingly, so was mine. We click 100%. Never met anyone like her before, and we feel we have something good that's building between us. We just get each other. It's really that simple. The others didn't work out for a reason - it's so you could find a person like this. So between all the international bureaucracies and viral outbreaks going on right now, we can't set up a visit, but someday, somehow, I'm going to get to her. It's Wolfguard vs The World, and I am undeterred...
Thats cute, hope things go good for you man. with all of this going on and my own personal struggles my Girl is definitely the only thing thats shines like a star in these dark times. Our first date was almost a year ago (April), i had wanted to take her to the movies like we did , and then give her a promise ring as well as ask her to prom since it would have been on april 18th, that got pushed back so ill see what i plan and hiw to give it to her.
Thanks, man - it went great! Definitely the most unique first date I have ever had, but it just makes it more memorable. As for you and your girl, the quote, "absence makes the heart grow fonder" is very true. Maybe when all of this is done, if the Prom is cancelled, then take her to dinner, then to some place to dance and call it a prom for just the two of you. Good luck, friend - you'll do just fine.
Back on a full, normally scheduled work week. Also have an official date to leave for overseas. I'm just waiting for these travel bans in the US to be lifted so I can purchase my tickets, and then I'm out. If the governor here continues the flight ban, I'll simply drive to another state and fly out from there.
I've been living in this house for almost six years and the only options for internet have been satellite or Verizon. Both are data capped and satellite is very slow, so neither option has been good. That all changed today. A local TV provider has been extending their service area and has finally brought cable broadband to my neighborhood. Even as I type this I'm downloading Uncharted 4 to my PS4, streaming an HD youtube video and my girlfriend is checking her emails. And I don't have to worry about data usage AT ALL. I've been waiting for this for so long.
That feeling you get when after being sick, the next day you wake up feeling so damn good! You feel like you can take on the world. Until you step out of your house and feel the coldness and be like "nope" and go back in where it is warm and watch Jim Carrey movies on Netflix.
Just read a couple of articles about how some international flights are resuming in June. Finally, some hope that I can get overseas via aircraft instead of cargo ship stoaway.
I hope this isn't a dis on some...due to the coranavirus and jobs...I make 6 figures (base line low middle class baby) and I just got me a $500 "bonus". Time to look at some good 3rd/4th party figures.
Well, I'm crying, and it's not because I ate too much hot sauce in my lunch. I just found out a bit ago that my beautiful niece will be getting her high school graduation ceremony after all. It's limited to immediate family living in the same house, and one kid at a time. It's a compromise, and not a good one in my book, but she and her class will get the ceremony!!!! This old man is overjoyed.
I went to the restaurant I used to work at for some tacos and I found a $20 bill in the parking lot. I had to run, something difficult for me to do, to get it and I felt a sharp pain in my hip but I find it worth it. And I got my tacos.
^ Speaking of which, my girl and I have a date for us to finally meet up in the EU pending the lifting of international travel bans. If the people you love are in walking or driving distance, please don't ever take it for granted...
Just finished a 100% complete on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. Since the release of the original in 1998 and all the ports, this is something i have only accomplished twice.
So, about two years ago I bought some generic organizer tray unit from a moving sale - thing was (and is) still full of various screws, washers, even a complete door hinge - for $10 and its been sitting in my basement this whole time. The idea was that I would eventually use it for storing odds and ends for my model building hobbies, but I haven't really gotten around to setting it up, let alone cleaning it out and organizing what hardware was inside. Well, I thought about digging through it today to see if there was anything I could pilfer for some minor interior decorating on a building and to my surprise, in one of the trays I'd never opened, was a small black velvet jewelry box. Inside the box were two sets of broken earrings (the posts had come unglued from the actual articles, easy enough to fix), three cool looking old lapel pins, and for some unfathomable reason a single 1 cent Euro coin. The earrings alone are probably worth three times as much as I paid - each - so I'd made my money back without even knowing it, but even better are the cool pins which will make excellent additions to my pin collection. And the Euro got tossed into my small pile of foreign coins I've built up over the years. A nice spot of buried treasure finding without even having to leave the house!
