finally read it. very cool opening to a multipart (4? 5?) series. having caught terminator on tv twice in the last 4 weeks, I feel like my body was ready for this.

While we wait, I've noticed a rather appropriate connection:

 

The elephant in the room is that it's unclear if this version of Skynet is hostile to humans or not. If it's the usual Skynet hostility to everything except for Skynet then it's going to end at odds with Autobots too.

 

I've enjoyed the recent crossovers with Star Trek and Ghostbusters. This first issue is cool too.

I'd love to see a Predator crossover. Surely they'd consider Cybertronians worthy prey.

 

From everything I've read, Skynet is intent on saving the human race by destroying all Cybertronians before they awaken. This didn't go as planned obviously. Also, the T-800 didn't kill the trucker (I think?) or Sarah.

Seeing all the Autobots dead in the future does make me wonder if the remaining Autobots were working with the Terminators in the future. If they were, I don't think they should want to kill all Cybertronians.

It would be nice to see more future world content. I like the post apocalyptic scenery.

 

I've read the first issue and there's... About winning the war by destroying Cybertronians. I don't think that saving specifically humankind was mentioned at all.

 

Yeah, he made note that Sarah's survival wasn't important as she didn't help create Skynet. So he cares about Skynet more than random people.

If he succeeds in killing all the Transformers before the Decepticons win, there will be no need to create Skynet.
Maybe he will try to force the creation of Skynet (loop)?

I enjoyed the first issue and that it actually tried to re-imagine Terminator to fit into the TF world. If it keeps up this might be my favorite TF crossover since Scioli's Transformers vs. G.I. Joe.

If we're talking potential TF crossovers, I'd like to see one with Green Lantern.

 

I'm still holding out for a Gundam crossover, myself.

 

Gundam Wing would make for the most interesting crossover with Transformers.

Issue 2 is finally out, and it’s interesting to see:

The Terminator teaming up with the Autobots, and the Decepticons destroying the factory that will eventually manufacturer the Terminators.

Also, the fight scene was great, and the art continues to be impressive.

 

where did you buy? IDW's site hasn't put it up for sale yet.
