She's been updated like all MP figures. If you watch the cartoon, all transformers have blocks for legs, blocks for arms, and over-simplified animation. Even the 1986 movie. The MP line takes those cubes and details them, adds curves, etc. Look at MP39 or MP44 to see the best representations of this. They have redesigned the bland squares and given them a muscular fluid look. MP51 does the same thing, but instead of a blockier masculine look, they gave her a slinky, feminine look. But her perportions and lines are basically the same as the anime. If you compare animation Arcee to Carly (the only other female seen frequently enough to rule out animation errors), Arcee has the same lines and build as a human female, unlike the Fembots of season two, who were built like "male" transformers. Arcee's chest is the same as Carly's. I'm certain Carly isn't a curveless block. It can be extrapolated that Arcee would have curves as well, they just never were animated as it didn't fit the animation style. The cartoon was risky as it was for the 1980's having Arcee running around as a teenbot in a thong and tanktop with "sexy Leia buns".
This thing is heart breaking. I wasn't feeling the FansToys or MMC 3rd party offerings and was ready to go full pre-order. Then Takara completely fucks up the chest. This is literally all I see.
That's kind of how I see it, too! They should have made some way to lift that chest just a smidge. BTW, I would sig that, but I'm sure it would be modded and removed... and probably so will this post.
Depends on shipping, I've seen 1600 on stuff and 2200 on others. DHL and boat are the only way to ship anything out of Japan till probably August. Will they adjust the price come December? Doubt it.
lol they're definitely shopping some of the car mode pics to make the gap/seam at the front with the chest piece look flat That being said, these pics do make her look better. Car mode is fantastic and I honestly don't have any problems with the backpack or the facesculpt (aside from wishing the alternate faces were more expressive). Still a pretty easy pass for now/until someone engineers a way to fix her whole torso situation with custom parts, but she's definitely growing on me.
