Man I've been musing on this for a while and I find it delectable just how much political intrigue really kicks up on DC's Earth when you really get down to it. Okay, Superman, just the one guy, says he's an alien. But you know, you could just say he's abnormally powerful and not an alien, his claims of Krypton might just be a delusion. Okay, relax, humanity doesn't have to deal with sapient life outside of Earth just yet though a dude with as much power as that will raise concerns. Okay, but then Green Lantern. Sapient life does exist outside of Earth, it is quite abundant, and there is a defence force that has influence and often uncontested authority across the known universe. One of their members is a sapient planet. More insultingly, Oa does not consider humanity as deserving of a spot on any sort of galactic council. They might even look at us like we look at animals in a wildlife reserve; you're cute and all but you stay in these boundaries we've set if you know what's good for you.

But then you remember there are issues on Earth itself. Themyscira, a hidden society who brings proof that the Greek Pantheon, and thus deities in general, exist. Atlantis, a convergence of sapient undersea life that now puts intense pressure on humans to quickly re-evaluate who they use the ocean. The Parliament of Trees, the willpower of plant life itself and one bad headache for vegetarians. Raven's father is literally the devil so um yeah the devil and demonic corruption and hellish realms exist, we're harbouring countless aliens who often have problematic political ties (such as Starfire, imagine if Tamaran thought we're keeping their princess hostage), and of course there are all the supervillains such as Darkseid the actual god of tyranny and harbinger of a horrific war world.

DC Earth is a freaking cesspool of messed up shenanigans and I for one would adore seeing someone attempt to unpack exactly how much bullcrap any human authority would have to put up with when you considered all the diverse challenges to human perception there are in this universe :lol

They should have stopped making new Green Lanterns after Kyle Raner. Simon Baz is basically been forgotten to history after they canned his rebirth book at mock speed. Jessica Cruz is the best of the new wave Green Lanterns, but I think she should stayed as Power Ring to make her unique (classically since this was around the time they demoted Kyle back to a Green Lantern). And then Bendis' new Teen Lantern... Just...

Yeah it's the finalized design they gave him after the chapter four game update that upgraded the first three chapters.

    EDIT: here's a better look.

No, that's Bendy's default appearance that appears as early as the end of chapter 1.

Yeah, after you get the six plinth items and turn on the ink flow, when you head back to the Ink Machine room, the door is boarded up and when you get close, Bendy pops up on the other side in a jump scare.

In regards to Transformers toys using stickers instead of paint apps or tampographs or just, like, in general?

I'm intrigued as to why? Just seems an odd thing to feel anything other than neutral towards.

I'm not much for vampires. They're boring, but as far as classic books go, I prefer Carmilla to Dracula. It was shorter but engaging and I've read it more then once.

Theatre is an underappreciated artform. I got to watch a couple Andrew Lloyd Webber plays on YouTube and they really mesmerized me. How are Broadway stars not held to the same level as Hollywood stars? Those guys all have to act and sing without the chance for retakes if they mess a line, in front of an audience of probably 1000 people! While guys like Matt Damon and Tom Cruise just need to well, act.

I'm not a fan of "out-of-order storytelling". Meaning prequels and "interquels" and jumping around in the timeline. The way I see it, this type of storytelling might be used well 1% of the time. But most of the time it feels like fanservice and mostly serves to dampen suspense and surprise.

This is actually one of the things that irks me most about modern Star Wars. Lucasfilm has jumped around so frantically in the timeline that it's actually getting confusing and ruining surprises. To me Darth Maul possibly conveys this best. We got his resurrection, then his death, then his cameo in Solo (which teased nothing, because we knew where he ended up), then his continued prequel-era adventures in nu-Clone Wars. Wouldn't it make more sense to tell his story in chronological order, so as to build some proper suspense?

I would also point to the Ahsoka character. By including her in Rebels, they spoiled the surprise that she survives Order 66. Which would have been a legitimate surprise, since a lot of people assumed she'd die there. Growing up, I used to find it goofy that George Lucas made 4, 5, and 6 before 1, 2, and 3. I recall that being being funny because most other movies tell their stories in order. But in hindsight, that's tame in comparison to how Disney is handling things.

I honestly think this is a big part of why Marvel resonates with audiences. They don't jump ahead in the timeline and show us who survives. And they don't do needless prequels about characters who we know the fates of. They keep it mostly in-the-moment, which keeps audiences wanting to see what happens next. I don't want to figure out what happens to Darth Maul next, because I already know.

I agree, but I don't relate (if that makes sense). In a way, I think stage actors are more impressive than film actors. They have to memorize entire scrips of dialog, and can't re-do a mess up. And it is really neat seeing everything live, it takes a lot of moving parts and good timing.

But for whatever reason, I've personally never really gotten into theater. I guess as someone who's grown up with movies, I find the lack of stuff like editing and close up shots a bit jarring. Something about seeing actors from a distance saying dramatic Hollywood-esque dialog all in one take feels a bit comical to me. It sort of highlights just how idealized and unrealistic fictional dialog is, when there's no fancy camerawork to enhance it. I totally appreciate it, but it's not an artform I'm able to really get sucked into.

I think maybe I'd be able to get more into comedy plays. I saw a Zorro play when I was younger, and the jokes really stood out to me. Occasionally my family goes to Christmas plays, and my favorites are always ones with a lot of comedy. Comedy often works better when the format is very flat and simple (without a lot of editing and whatnot), so I think a play really lends itself to the comedy genre.
