still probably only getting halfshell unless scylla has changes from tentakill or unless it\'s just a box set
then i may or may not get, probably will because 
seacons are wonderful especially in white/ gold/dark turquoise

I just read god neptune and the space pirate crew's bios. I LOVE THEM.

 

They're a rag tag bunch of misfits for sure!

 

I too grew up with G1, and only learned of BW2 in maybe mid 2000s. I mean it was not really well known outside Japan before the internet gotten widespread.
I knew the Seacons from the Marvel G1 comics - where they actually had personalities. I never cared for the drone-like Masterforce versions. Snaptrap was the only one who was sentient, and even he had zero personality. The BW2 ones might be silly, but they are far more enjoyable and memorable than mindless drones.
In the comics they had only a little time to shine, but they sure took on some pretty mighty foes in that time, like Galvatron or the Underbase-powered Starscream.

 

So...with three Destron/Predacon releases in a row, the next reveal has to be an Autobot. Who's it going to be? Is God Neptune 'just' a quick repaint and are they going back to the Battlestars/Return of Convoy (i.e. will we see Skygarry and Grandus)? Or this is the end of pre-WFC molds and are we going to see the first Siege retool (e.g. Jetfire into Star Saber or Astrotrain into Galaxy Shuttle)? You could say God Primus was 'teased' in the comic, but that was just the g1 Lucky Draw toy so I wouldn't take that one into consideration...yet.

I think they're just waiting for the right time. I don't think the market is ripe enough for G2 bots (or BWII for that matter). They need to build on some kind of momentum; and that needs to be created by a new BW toyline (resulting from the BW anniversary and/or the upcoming BW movie). Lio and God Neptune are just outliers of this series.

 

Then why did they bother to redesign her in the very comic they released for the toys?

There was that new mold of Armada Optimus we seen alongside Star Convoy like a year ago...

 

Assuming I ever get the last two Seacons, I’d still like this as well.

I don't think they really take factions into consideration with the selects stuff. Not saying it won't be an autobot just that it'll be more of a what they can do with the available toolings not trying to balance out the sides.
