I just visited my local Walmart (with lots of rude people ignoring social distancing), and there were no transformers at all except for a couple of Cyberverse figures. I also never saw the 35th-anniversary figures at this Walmart (unless they were on a display very far from the toy aisles, but I never saw them near the front or electronics), so I'm worried that I'm just going to have to give up on finding these if they never restock them online.

 

Hmm. The last 5 seem like completely reasonable* options for the (presumed) 5 deluxes in Wave 2 (to get us to 10 for the diorama). The other three strike me as either (a) inadvertent inclusions or (b) yet another "pull stuff forward into Siege" situation like WFC:S Wave 5. If it's the latter (and this listing is correct), maybe they'll bulk up the number of voyagers, too, and @tigatron2002 and I can both be right about which voyagers show up.

ETA: Elita and maybe Deep Cover are the only ones of interest from the latter 5. If the Quintesson (presumably the Alicon?) has a cool and different deco, I might grab a couple. Bumblebee and WJ will be easy passes.

i think both bee and elita are in er, at the very least bee, because of two select rumor a bit back and the fact that we haven't seen any select use the same mold as another select, except for cassette, and that a special case

 

still not sure what depresses me more- the fact that there's an entire subline consisting of last years' leftovers in crappier packaging, or the fact that people are gobbling up every single fucking offering like there's no tomorrow.

I actually thought the white packaging looked really sharp. Everyone uses dark colors these days so the white stands out.

 

Curious how fans will react if they do Wheeljack in a brighter white and darker green?

And Bumblebee... I doubt they would release that as an original mold when we haven't gotten him officially announced yet for Earthrise. I suppose they could do a movie-inspired Bumbebee with a wheeljack mold, or maybe the Siege or Earthrise Datsun mold?

I wonder if the Red Alert will be in Clamp Down colors? Would they really want to have two of the same mold (Siege Sideswipe) in the same wave, especially when they have already used that mold 3 times in the past? Maybe they do one with Sideswipe's mold and one with ER Sunstreaker's?

 

Hmmmm I'm gonna need a new name for G2 Sideswipe, since I was calling him Deep Cover.

Hoping the Quintesson is maybe the Allicon in the colors that Takara showed, or at least something else other than "same colors but dirtier".

Definitely getting the Elita since POTP one is gonna be in combined mode and Bumblebee is a solid maybe. Gonna have to see which version looks better, Vainilla or Netflix Rocky Road.

Since I'll be getting him soon, I've put some thought into this (let's pretend that's because of the lockdown and I have nothing better to do):

1) My first thought was him as a younger, even cockier version of Sideswipe, so perhaps Strut. It's one of the few car terms that hasn't been used in the line yet.
2) My second thought was to steal a GI Joe name since they sorta did it for ScrapFace/Scrap Iron. Unfortunately most of the black and red Joe toys are Cobra figures and I'd rather use a Joe name for an Autobot. Some of the ones that could be used as a color match are Low Light, Barbecue, Sneak Peek, and Jinx. Of those, I like Low Light.

 

Deep Cover's something I'd actually buy, even if it'll remind me how sad I am we never got more Diaclone cars from the earlier Classics/Generations molds.

If they're going to do more random colors again, fuck it, do "Wheeljack" in Slicer colors.
