I am interested in the Batmoblie ($600) and all three complete Sentinels (about $5k total). Are Iron Studio pieces worth the price? And where is the best place to order (no sales tax and free shipping)?

I have a couple of their 1/10 DC pieces and I am getting several more. They are great pieces and are absolutely worth their price between $100-$120. Some of the more expensive ones feel a bit overpriced to me, but they are still great pieces. That Sentinel Diorama will be one heck of a display. That's a lot of money and real estate, but if X-men are your thing it will be a grail of a display. General consensus on the Batmobile is that it's over priced. I'm sure it will come out looking great. I'm not sure if you can really get free shipping and no tax anywhere anymore, but if you find a reliable place, let everyone know. I've ordered direct from their site and also from Sideshow Collectibles and Spec Fiction, and of course BBTS carries them.

A great resource for Iron Studios (and statues in general) is statueforum.com
Here is the link to the Iron Studios section:

Thanks for the info. The 89 Batmoblie imo is the best Batmoblie, just finished building the Lego UCS set and I have the Richman Toys RC 89 Batmoblie. The X-Men Sentinel statute looks incredible. I like the 90s animated series, but I am not a die hard fan. I am not really a statute person, I bought several of the sideshow star wars pieces, and had decided to end buying statues then I saw the Iron Studio pieces and the Prime One G.I. Joe's. But these thing cost an arm and a leg and a kidney, and a...

I can't speak specifically about the Batmobile, but the IS statues are def good quality and great faces. Occasionally I hear of someone having a QC issue, so always check the statues when you get them, and assemble parts, to make sure the connections are good. I've never had any QC issues, so I don't think they're normally widespread (except the wing connections on the large Hawkman statue). But if you want to test one out, you could buy the Mystique 1/10 statue, as I don't think that one comes with any of the Sentinel sets (double check that)… it should give you a good sense of the quality to expect.

Thanks, that is not a bad idea of buying the Mystique. It would be nice if Iron Studio push back its release date. I have a feeling at least for me a lot of older preorders will be shipping all at once. And on a negative note, should we even be buying this stuff with the economy in the tank.
