So after assembling all 3 released so far it blows me away how tall this guy is. Man, its gonna be a long wait with the big guy propped up somehow until his left leg arrives in August!

To be honest I don't know Grimlock. But personally, I'm not fazed by how tall he is compared to combiners from other 3P companies. They all do things differently with different rationale for their products. As I've said previously, live & let live

I believe there’s a slight difference, can’t remember if taller or shorter. But not the same. He’s still pretty big though. Given what you may collect. He’ll be the biggest I own.

I got Onslaught in yesterday, and my first impressions are good. Despite the lack of a true toy deco like I wanted, I really like this figure. I really wish he had a black alt head instead of the stupid light up gimmick I'm never going to use, but other than that I have few complaints. I even like his odd proportions, they look fine in hand. Torso mode is stupendous, the transformation is fun and intuitive, and the build is second-to-none. The upgrade kit really improves the combined mode, though I have yet to try out the feet. Glad I got this guy as a gift because $200+ is a hard pill to swallow, but he definitely feels worth the money.

I'm really torn on this set, but I am in. On the one hand, toyworld and zeta have spoiled me for combiners and I am 100% convinced that partsforming is the way to go. The proportions and scale and solidity are just too good to ignore. I am also 100% convinced that the figures in this set are all compromised in some way in order to accommodate the all-in-one gimmick. I do fully understand that it is that very gimmick that excites so many people, however. And the engineering is definitely cool as a result. I also believe these have the best bot mode for any combaticon set so far, despite some of the wonky things going on. Plus, their vehicle modes are gorgeous. So even when fanstoys puts out their versions some day and I use those for my robot modes, I will probably keep these guys for vehicle mode. Zeta will always be my Bruticus. One thing about this Onslaught, he is best when posed dynamically so you don't get a good look at his goofy proportions.

I'm a fan of minimal partsforming, like with Feral Rex. Just the hands and feet and maybe a codpiece or chest piece, like with the G1 figures. I do think the all-in-one gimmick is cool, but Vortex in particular would've been better if he didn't have to have those giant hands in his legs. Swindle is pretty much perfect, and so are Brawl and Blast Off...only Onslaught and Vortex really suffered from the gimmick, and on both it's not too big of a deal. I do not like it when the entire combiner is a separate torso piece that you add figures onto (like with Zeta), that's just lame and kinda defeats the point of being a transformer in my eyes. I went from wanting to sell this set to being all-in upon receiving Incursus, but I still have some mixed feelings about this set.

They just make me feel so excited in that way I love Transformers. It’s like they’re actually the Combaticons. So cool.

My third attempt at getting an ensignia on alt mode and it's still a bit squint, happens everytime I need to do a halved label haha IMG_20200514_003215.jpg

There are dry transfer decal sets out there that come pre-halved.

I'm the same but I've got to a point where I have a good enough limit or tell myself it's my unique difference haha, other times I can end up doing it over and over and over. Luckily this was only 3 times and it's not so bad as long as I'm not looking too closely

It's really not too bad. You can think of the fact that with all the combat and battle damage which equates to frequent destruction of surface decals or paint, a soldier like onslaught isn't going to get too caught up in making each reapplication perfect since its probably going to get damaged again anyway.
Now you can view the misalignment as an indication of his character and role as a constant combatant in the war.

Yo I dig that stuff. If I ever get some decals for my guys I’m gonna try and think of the best spots to also not be redundant.
