Picked up a used Wardog with no instructions and I figured it out. I feel like the stories surrounding this guy are pretty exaggerated. The shoulders are only really confusing until you understand what's supposed to move and where it's supposed to go, but once you know it's fairly straightforward. I thought the actual biggest pain was how you have a bunch of parts just flapping around mid-transformation. Well, that and lining everything up just so for the tank mode. I honestly don't get how BadCube got such a bad reputation for the transformations because Wardog and Sunsurge are both far easier than a lot of Fans Toys' stuff.

If think people give it heat because you can’t transform him in the same amount of time that it takes you to make cheeet chuu chuuu cheeeeet transform noise in your head.

JK! Still loving mine. Even though Im part of the great G1 Generation, I’m quite displeased with the move to absolute screen accuracy. That seems to be the real heat aside from the long floppy transformation.

Just having a little fun with his weapons. Another way to utilize his shield and gun via some connection adapters.......as a huge shoulder-mounted shield and back-cannon and added hand weapon :)

Quite the departure from the cartoon ....looks like a heavy armored/weaponized war grunt.

    Ready cannon.....

Strange..no matter how many times I wanna sell him off. I just can't. Usually I'll end up deleting my listing.

Even the new version by FT couldn't sway me. Still loving my Wardog after all these years.

Yes, 3D printed parts that clip on to him and then connect to the weapons.

The gun cannon; the base slides onto a groove on this back side. And the gun has a plug with a pegs which connect to the base for up and down.

The shield; the adapter slides on a groove on the back of the arm, a 2nd connection allows the shield handle to connect to it.

I still need to fine-tune the tolerance a bit. My earlier post were just test shoots :)
    Thanks

i love it, and that he's got Jazz's gun is pretty cool too. now i will have to see if i can make Wardog's arms hold some weight as my figure came with floppy shoulder ball joints and i imagine that the shield would be a huge challenge for him to hold on there

Yes, the shield will put weight on the arm. It why I place the shield on his right arm b/c his left is so loose he can’t keep his own arm up.

Is there a remedy for the loose arm ball joints and had success? I did one application of floor polish on the ball joint (overnight dry) and went loose again.

Can the ball joint pop-off, has anyone tried? I assume it can but not sure it would break??

Anyways.....I should have the shield & gun canon adapter finalized this coming week for those interested. I can have a few prints for sale and provide the STL file :)  Thanks

*Shield and gun cannon adapter set

3D printed adapter set for sale.

If you have access to a 3D printer, I can provide the STL file for free (just PM me with an email to forward too).

    Note:
*the parts are 3D printed PLA, so you will see the layer lines.

    07044194-9E03-4A3B-9FE6-A0B8C457697A.jpeg

*And the gun cannon adapter parts are a round peg and slot connection that rotates for up-down movement.....the tolerance are enough for tension, but since it’s plastic rubbing against plastic....it could loosen overtime. You may need to add a bit of glue or floor polish to tension again. I didn’t make it any tighter, the greater tension could cause the peg to potentially twist and shear off.

    Price: (3) parts set
Set includes (1) shield adapter & gun cannon adapter (2 parts).
    $8.50 USD + $4.45 US shipping (w/tracking)

*If you are outside the US, international shipping can be accommodated (just PM your location for shipping quote) but its bit expensive (more then the the $ set), I recommend if you can get access to a 3D printer use the free STL files to make it economical.

    Installation:
Below are (2) quick videos demonstrating the adapter parts and how it install.

    Gun cannon adapter.

    see video
    -(2) parts, 1 for the gun & 1 for Wardog’s back
-plug the adapter (w/ round peg) to the gun.
-make sure the peg is oriented at the bottom

    -the 2nd adapter for Wardog
-lift the back top portion out of the way
-align the notch of the adapter to the back of Wardog, push the adapter towards the back and then push down so it’s all flushed
    -plug back the back top
-once installed, plug the gun/peg into the slot
-don’t push/force into the slot, wiggle (up in down) in place

    Shield adapter.

    see video
-the adapter plugs onto the the back of either arm (video/pictures shows his right). Align the the adapter between the top and bottom of the cavity behind the arm.
-the the adapter also plugs to the shield handle. Don’t try to plug it straight on, plug on an angle, start with the bottom and finish with top
-Once installed to the arm, plug the shield (note the shield handle has a tendencies to want to fold to the side, the trick will be keeping the handle straight while you plug to the adapter).

    Thanks for looking :)

    Repair Bay: loose shoulder/arm
So I found a remedy for the loose shoulder/arm ball joint. My copy had loose ball joints....his left was worst, couldn’t even support its own arm...it would just flop down. Tried the floor polish...but just loosen again.

What I did to stiffen the ball joint was to layer the socket with small strips of paper. I popped off the ball joint and layered the socket. I build up the strips until I got the desired stiffness. Used a tiny bit of glue just hold it in place as I layered. Kept the paper strips small so there wouldn’t be visible once the arm was back on.

Now the weight of the shield is not a problem :)

need to get mine out and do the same thing. used "painter's tape" on the hips of XTB Shafter and Axis since they couldn't even stand up when i first got them and used it on the KFC hands for Tracks and Road Rage so they can actually hold the guns upright now. need to try the floor polish trick on the side movement for the hips on Shafter and Axis, feel like there isn't much support there either.

Hey can anyone help me out here? I cant work out if these parts are broken or if theyre meant to be this way. I assumed i broke them, but the gaps are in the exact same spot each side. These are the small parts that connect to the thin bar that connects his arms. You can see where it grabs onto the bars on each side there's a gap. Not sure its meant to be there or not.

Yeah, it's not meant to be split like that.

Not sure how well the toy handles with those breaks. The grey parts just need to be able to slide along the bar. If they can still do that without popping off repeatedly, then it's probably not a huge problem. If they fall off really easily, though, it could be annoying.
