But wait, I thought the Diaclones were just piloted mecha. This bio makes him sound sentient. EDIT: And now I've actually read the bio instead of just skimming it... I get it now. I'm totally committed to Diaclone so I can't help you.
It just occurred to me that CR-01's photo on the vintage Diaclone/Diakron box had no stickers applied...I wonder if this has something to do with why they forewent all the crazy tampos (besides lazy evil cost-cutting Takara).
The dream display is: MP-31 - how Ultra Magnus almost looked in the movie MP-18B - how the original Bluestreak toy was almost sold (and named after, and almost appeared in the cartoon) MP-26 - but customised with Loud Pedal/Tracks parts to be toy-accurate. How Tracks almost was sold (or indeed maybe was sold in some markets? perhaps @Maz knows) and how he appeared in the box art battle MP-12T - ow Sunstreaker was supposed to look and MP-39+ - how Sideswipe was supposed to look before their bios were swapped around It's the "almost happened" crowd. Four cars that will fit perfectly on a car carrier
Thinking of spending $$$ on both spinout and the reissue Sunstreaker to swap out parts to make a Toy accurate sunstreaker. What do you think the chances are for being able to sell a red Sunstreaker with yellow shoulders, toon head, and flat shin panels?
My first ever translated bio. Let me know what you think. Rescue Assault Spinout, an homage from Diaclone, the precursor of Transformers, joins the MP series! The color palette, dimensions, and specifications are modeled directly after Car Robot NO.1 Countach LP500S type from Diaclone. A completely new Masterpiece branded character transforms from the Lamborghini "Supercar" LP500S to Rescue Assault team member, Spinout! The specific variations of the original Diaclone figure have been faithfully reproduced, while maintaining the excellent articulation and vehicle mode features that were already exhibited by Sunstreaker and Cordon. The concept of the original Car Robot NO.1 Countach LP500S type has been made into a reality with a product that strongly adheres to the modernization of Transformers. MP-39+ Autobot Rescue Assault Spinout CYBERTRON ASSAULT & RESCUE SPINOUT Role: Assault Rescuer Motto: “Trivial details aren’t suitable for extended history.” Profile: Spinout was originally an unconscious existence as a combat machine (Car Robot) in another dimension, but was given life by an ancient computer on Cybertron and became a cognizant lifeform. Although Spinout is passionate and zealous for his fellow Autobots, he shows strong loyalty and obedience to humans. He clearly remembers his previous life as a war machine dependent on humans and has internal anxiety about fighting without a pilot. Spinout’s vehicle form, the Lamborghini Countach LP500S, is strongly reminiscent of his mysterious and paradoxical origin. Extended Bio: [Private recordings of Delta Magnus]: Our rushed operation to secure the remote space facility of Diadem saved vast amounts of data recordings of ancient Cybertron, but it couldn’t have come at worse costs. The facility was severely damaged by the fierce battle between Decepticons and Quintessons, and much valuable information was lost. Fortunately, I was able to recover Cordon’s memory files, but he refused to reinstall them. So, that aside, ultimately what we got… was something so completely unexpected that shakes the very history of Cybertron! A bot by the name of Spinout was discovered in the depths of Diadem. He was found in a cryochamber and must have been resting for the past 10 million years. In simpler terms, we found an autoboot, that has an Earth altmode from millions of years ago! What the hell is that?!? According to the data files of Anterior Zeta on Diadem, Spinout was originally nothing more than an unwitting machine from a different Earth dimension. Nothing more than some detritus cast into our spacetime continuum. Hmm. Diaclone… That is the name of the force that Spinout belonged to. Zeta, who analyzed the anomaly, seemed to have been fascinated by the battles between the Diaclone and their enemies, the Waruders. Was Zeta losing his mind by this time? Perhaps he was infected by some alien force? I can’t be certain… Anyway, Zeta took extreme measures to lead the Autobots to Dialcone’s missions in hopes of taking command. Upon discovering the true threat of the Waruders, he created a team of professionals whose highest priority was the extermination of the Waruders, and he programmed them to infiltrate a vast array of systems via a repair network. It’s hard to believe there was such meddling in our people’s ancestry, but there are already examples. I’m speaking of the Blue Bluestreak incident, in which Bluestreak had a run in with the Waruder Insectorobos. We must take extreme measures to halt their infiltration! If the threat of an evil Waruder invasion was immediate I know that Spinout would fight on our side. But I think it should be done out of a sense of personal freedom; not one of controlled obedience.
Yeah Tracks was sold in red in mainland Europe in Milton Bradley-badged G1 Transformers boxes. This was not entirely a decision from HasTak, though, since all Milton Bradley did was take the existing stock of Ceji Joustra Diaclone Corvettes (red), pop the styro inside a TF box and sell it as Tracks. Hence why MB Tracks comes in styro. All the best Maz
I got that from an uncle stationed in Germany during the 80's. Think he bought it while on leave in Italy at the time.
That makes sense, although not so much the Italy part. MB TFs were sold in Scandinavia, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain and even Aus/NZ, but in Italy the TF distribution was covered by GiG. Unless he got you this: All the best Maz
Might have been either. Never saw the box. To save on shipping costs, my Uncle took all the gifts out of the boxes and just shipped bunched together, using tshirts and candies as packing material.
Nice art, and fun bio. It seems fitting that they would save the official "Diaclone" mention for the character/figure who is arguably the "first" Transformer.
Yeah, I'm also hoping we get a version of that without the word "SAMPLE" written across it by the time the toy actually comes out.
Maybe the quote might be more properly translated to "Trivial knowledge is of little concern when discussing the past." It just rolls off the tongue better. I really like this characterization though, and unlikely as it may be, I'm optimistic for more stuff of spinout in the future.
