Update 2: The files are now available for free over on thingiverse. Go nuts Microplex (Deluxe Class Modulator Metroplex by Sam_Makes_Toys Update 1: I've completed the first full print of Microplex. Overall I'm really happy with him. There are some tollerance issues, and I need to work out how to get his chest to tab together better, but all in all I'm happy with how he's come along. I plan to put the files up for free some time in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled if you're interested for more pics see my update comment Original post: Given we now have the modulators which are essentially tiny base-formers I thought it would be neat to have deluxe class titan bots who were compatible with the play pattern. I ended up choosing to go with metroplex first. No specific reason, I just figured he would work well for the idea Had been knocking this idea around for a bit. I finally completed the CAD on the design a few weeks ago but because of exam preparation, I hadn't started printing him. Last night I decided to test print some parts, so figured I would share the project. I went with a fairly stocky design, so while he is Deluxe class in height he is a bit broader than most deluxe figures. His base mode is modified from its classic design to make a continuous road that can hook up with other modulator bases The base mode is fairly simplistic but I think it serves its purpose. Additionally, his big firearms can be removed and peg onto official figures as big punch gauntlets because why not. With these test parts you can get an idea for scale. I usually try to get away with printing in full colour with different components, but given how critical the panel lines are to the look I may have to try and get a gundam marker or something to make them pop It'll be a few weeks before I get him finished, last nights test print were mostly to amuse myself amid exam stresses, but given the CAD is complete (with the exception of some panel lining) it shouldn't take too long to finish with some dedication
Awesome as always. Will you be adding additional connection points so that they can hook up to pre-trilogy Titans?
About the only complaint I have is you might've waited for Airwave, who even looks like a tiny Metroplex...
This is a great idea! Hasbro needs to get on this. Give us smaller Titans for those of us who don't want a toy the size of a small child, it's not like most of the true Titans are in scale anyway!
That’s nifty! reminds me of the transformer Jr toys. I bought a KO of the mini Fort Max just to hang out with the big G1 toy. This would be fun for me for the same reason!
Yeah once finished I'll put the files up for sale. Just waiting on some printer parts before I can get him printed and tested. Hopefully I'll have him don't in around a week or so
