I transformed mine into car mode - best form imo.

 

Just picked this guy up off Amazon, had him for two days. I'm liking this guy a lot, flaws and all. With enough time and working with what we're given, I got him into some pretty nice poses. I just need 54 Megs to finish the 07 Cons. Does anybody have any pictures of him next to Human Alliance Frenzy, and the SS 07 cons if you can?

I don't have a pic rn but I can tell you that HA Frenzy comes up pretty high on Barry. He's meant to go with a figure that's way bigger, but it still feels good to have him with the gang. If they make a ss Frenzy he should be tiny and will probably not move or transform  

 

Maybe a 3rd party could give us an OS SS Barry - with cleaner shoulders and Frenzy?

 

If a 3P is gonna put effort in then they're probably gonna make one for the MPM, but it'd be cool to get Frenzy no matter the size!

 

Maybe this has been discovered by someone already, but I find Barricade's transformation to be INFINITELY easier when I tab the arms/car sides into the legs before closing the hood/roof as the final step (unlike the instructions which tell you to put the roof in place first before tabbing the arms in). Gives you more room to reach inside and make sure everything's tabbed in right. Pics below!

A quick question - has anyone tried cutting out the black headlight covers and replacing them with transparent pieces? I thought it was a huge missed opportunity to make a more accurate vehicle mode and wanted to try it myself, but I'm not sure how to make the replacement pieces in the accurate shape.

 

No but I painted the covers silver and that helped a lot for 1 minute of work.

 

Held off buying Barricade thinking Hasbro would just announce a second version with Frenzy, but since there's been no hint of such a thing in all this time I went and bought Barry before he completely vanished from retail.

He's intensely meh. The likeness is great (the older Deluxes look really toy-ish), but the limited articulation, the dopey weapon, lack of paint, frustrating transformation (20 minutes to get the legs properly aligned only to find the feet sticking out of the car, and once I figure that out the rear bumper doesn't want to peg in, GAH!), clear parts, and lack of Frenzy all mean he feels like a placeholder than a 'definitive' version of one of the breakout stars of the '07 film.
(also his small stature is disappointing, but that admittedly is a bit of a bias on my part due to being used to the rather large Legends toy)

 

I've had two copies now, produced months or years apart, and on both that first transformation was a complete pain because those slots on his hips need to be seriously broken in. It gets easier after you've managed to force the arm tabs into those slots a couple of times, but this toy is asking to make a poor first impression like that.

Also, I still don't like the hood ball joint. The socket cracked on my original (not fatally, but it's got that awful feeling where you know the looseness is because it's broken), and I'm sure that this fresh copy feels like my original used to.

 

Has anyone found it impossible to peg the torso together in robot mode? My copy has this issue, and I'm wondering if this is a common thing, or even something with all figures?

I just need to figure out what the problem is exactly. I just got a new one (old one’s windshield ball joint broke), but the waist doesn’t snap on. I tried looking at both of them but I can’t spot a difference, so I have no idea how to go about this
