I'd put Grimlock above Megatron in terms of missing paint - he's missing a ton of color from the animation model, particularly on the legs.

This series of deluxes is going to be one of the most criminally slept upon set of figures ever. The engineering and articulation is actually quite complex, they're more like Generations toys with the animated aesthetic

I've only got the Megatron and he's... the best Cyberverse Megatron, I guess, which is damning with faint praise. Are the others just way better and Megatron is the dud?

Grimlock actually has a decent amount of paint. Could use more of course. Anything that is not gray or black is painted on, including all the yellow.

Megatron is unfortunately the worst of wave 1 and competing with Hot Rod for worst overall figure. Needed more paint apps and really could’ve used metallic paint on the face. Shortest figure and floppy limbs.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these little figures. Yes, they’re cheapy-feeling and a little loosey-goosey, but to me not every toy has to be adult-collector-grade. But for what they are, they’re well-articulated and have a lot of personality. And I like how simple and unobtrusive their gimmick is.

And this is coming from someone who pretty well despised the earlier Cyberverse figures and their unforgivable lack of articulation and obnoxious gimmicks.

I’ve only got the first wave plus Hot Rod... Grimlock is on the way. But so far Maccadam seems fun. The lack of transformation doesn’t bother me, he’s essentially a little articulated display piece for dioramas and whatnot.

Despite my issues with Grimlock, mostly in leg tolerances, he's actually the best Grimlock from Hasbro besides MP. I wasn't a fan of POTP Grimlock, and this deluxe still has better articulation.

I also picked up spark armor Cheetor and Skybyte, Hammerbyte, and the Warrior Starscream that looks like the ship from Gradius, and love them.

Isn't making transforming Action Master figures missing the point of Action Masters?

Wave 2? But Bee was in Wave 1, he is out even here in Hungary, I have him... Hot Rod's weird half-red tires bother me somehow, but I guess it is for screen accuracy. Grimmy is great, love that crown. During the show I even learned to like him having a face in robot mode, given his personality changes in robot and beast modes.

Not really. Back when AMs were made, they could not produce toys that had proper ball jointed legs and that much articulation AND also transform. We had to wait like, 4-5 years for that with the Laser Rods and Cyberjets.
I'd frankly hope future AM hommages are like Krok or the Animated Jackpot was, since even as a kid I looked at these AM toys (I had Jackpot and Mainframe) and could guess what they turned into before they got the Nucleon process. Well, except Banzai-Tron. No idea what he could have turned into...

The order that Takara releases figures in doesn't exactly match Hasbro's.

Yeah, I am guessing they broke them up to 3 waves wit 3 figures in each (and I guess last one will be Arcee and Thunderhowl)

Damn, that's a shame. I know I don't live over there, so I don't have any stake in this, but it sucks that the Japanese have to put up with this being an online exclusive. They're really too good to deserve such a thing.

Jeepers. That Hotrod's lack of paint is truly shocking. I can't believe they even left the spoiler red.

I'm not obsessed with my figures being painted perfectly, but Hot Rod screams cost cutting. Both with paint and that insane kibble on his arms that somehow people defend. I have all the Cyberverse deluxes so far, and Hasbro clearly sees Hot Rod as the red-headed step child.

In all honesty, the kibble doesn't bother me too much... but the paint is inexcusable. It's a shame because the Cyberverse toyline has been really bad and I was kind of hoping that at least the Deluxes would give good versions of some of the characters but... yikes.

The first wave of Deluxes is pretty good. Wave 2 suffered in the paint department.
