Well your print look smooth finish, hard to tell it is 3D printed. Did you sand it?
Yes wasn’t aware Sliver Arrow also has the face built into the helmet.....one of the difficulties I’ve had to deal with my Airstrike project. Now I need to rebuilt the helmet to house the DX9 face....

Any chance on seeing the the head/face separated to see the different parts and how they come together? Excited to see how the Downthrust turns out :)

    thanks for the reply

Remade Silverbolt helmet. Used spare Skydive face on Zeta Skydive. Think I might 3D print the fins on the side of the helmet. I think Zeta got the face right for Slingshot but will look at changing Fireflights. I wish they included origonal heads in the box set.

So for Skydive, you cut out Downthrust’s face from his helmet. Or did you 3D print that also? Why did you reprint Sliverbolts’s helmet again?
    Thanks

I used a spare Skydive's Fanstoys face and cut out the zeta face (couldn't face Designing it in CAD with all thoses curves). I used better setting for Silverbolts print and had a better idea of how to paint it. Think I over did it with coats the first time.

Have you made other TF stuff in CAD? I personally have absolutely no knowledge or experience with it which sucks given I want upgrades to some of the figures I own :lol

Yes I use Autodesk Inventor. I've made a few bits and pieces here and there like little adapters and a new gun for Bumblebee and chest for Hotrod.

Nice! How hard is it to learn to use? Been wishing for someone to make a new face for dx9’s Attila and still nothing.

I've been using it for years (use at work). There are loads of tutorials on line. I learnt by designing products I'd already made by hand so new what they should look like. Credit to anyone who can sculpt a decent face. That's a skill way beyound me!

Ah got ya. Yeah, I imagine faces are a difficult thing to sculpt, which probably why some 3rd parties struggle with them. Anyways, good job on mixing those FT faces with the zeta bots, looks pretty dang good!

I think smaller guns along with the new faces helps. I'm happy with Skydive now he has side fins on the head. I've put a spare face on Fireflight but feel the scale is slightly off. Can't do anything about it though as I've run out of spare faces that could fit. Will try and see if getting the origonal heads is an option anywhere. _DSC4310.jpg _DSC4312.jpg _DSC4306.jpg _DSC4303.jpg

    Hey you are welcome:)
Looking good! Do the parts fit correctly and flushed once printed......or was there any post clean-up?

Are you thinking of printing/using the others upgrade parts or is this the extent?

Didn’t realize the chest plug also fits Firefly for use the chest design or did you have to modify? Who’s face are you using for him BTW?

Curious, does the center chest piece for AS able to plug to DW? I never had the chance to test it.

    thanks for showcasing :)
Happy to hear they made a difference.

Hopefully I get to finish mine soon....

Parts fitted fine. I spent a few days spray painting and rubbing down to get as smooth a finish as possible. I'm going to include two versions of the gun you designed but still need a bit more work with sanding etc. For Firefly I just used Bluetack and a spare Inferno face (the smaller size scaled better) however I'll be copying your use of DX9 Montana face as I think it looks better. I think the chest piece would need tweaking to fit better. Just a few changes and I'm much happier with them as individual bots now. Cheers for the help and inspiration.

Yeah Montana’s does work well (Still need to reshape the eyes). Here’s a 2nd one I was able to acquire. Working on doing the same resculpting as the first one. But I took Montana’s helmet (painted black) and sanding the sides to thin them. I like it...given its red face but I may consider using it for Downthrust...maybe add the fins in the side but the sanded helmet shape suits well I think.

And I must admit, I kind of like how the red face works for AS, the red and white color scheme does suit the red and white body which contrast nicely with the black jet body :)

@transformer_78 do you have chest kits available? I couldn't find anything you've posted here.

Only the STL files if you have a 3D printer and can print yourself (i don’t have access to produce).

I provided @Bugste81 to test print since he has the capability too.

But if you can print yourself, happy to share. I only have a design for Airstrike and Downthrust :)

Hey, if there happens to be anyone out there that purchases the metallic set that doesn't want the bonus chest piece for combined mode...feel free to reach out. I would definitely buy that off someone if they didn't want it and were looking to recoup some of their costs. I know it is a long shot, but I figure it can't hurt to try.
