    Hey! thanks for replying!

Oh really? I saw it mostly around 120. Even from official sellers like amazon jp and stuff. I'm just concerned it might not be the real one and a fake knock off. The reviews seem suspicious yes. Doubt even a dedicated customer buys that much. :/ But on the first page of this thread, I saw it on the good seller's list? And I send a message to the seller about if it was real and they answered "The supplier said it was the real product. I paid the price." So not entirely sure what to make of it.

I had detailed a ridiculous scenario on here where I'd preordered mine from a very trusted ebay seller for about $85USD, back when most sellers had it at that $80-90 mark for preordering, that sale completely went to garbage though, likely because many sellers were jacking the price up to that $120 mark and others didn't want to lose out on that 150% markup, but Amazon.jp, not a third party or marketplace seller, was getting regular stock and selling for $89USD total, with 2-5 day international shipping included in that price. Some sellers still try to keep pushing the price back up, but most of the market, especially in China, is still getting it cheap, so no real need to push prices.

Also, not positive, but I'm not sure there even is a KO of this figure yet, so most any MP-46 you get for the foreseeable future is probably legit.

Edit: Turns out I was definitely wrong. On the ShowZ Facebook page I see a 4th party KO of MP-46 has just been released for $65USD, so definitely plenty of reason to be cautious buying this now, even if the price of the official isn't that much more from many sellers.

    Hi,
I've also been ripped off by this seller but still waiting for my lego figure to turn up lol.
Can I ask how long it took for Ebay to sort out the refund?
    Cheers

Would strongly suggest not waiting for Ebay at all and opening a case with Paypal right away. Call or live chat with them and start the dispute process now so everything is already in motion for once the shipment arrives, rather than wait up to a month on Ebay after the shipment finally arrives.

Thanks for the advice. I've already opened a case with PayPal. I wasnt sure which way will be faster. Is it not worth contacting ebay at all then?

I've heard the very rare anecdote that for some random circumstance like a seller being removed or deactivated that a buyer was refunded faster, but I couldn't say if this is accurate or even common. In my own experience, if you used an Ebay Bucks certificate for full, or even partial payment, the resolution time was much faster through Ebay than Paypal, but you can still use Paypal for a resolution with a partial payment anyways. Outside of those scenarios, my recommendation would be to pretty much always use Paypal otherwise, and whenever possible, contact them directly, rather than use an automated form.

Hello, yes I waited the 8 day mandatory period before asking them to “step in” - I opened a returns query with them prior to that. Following the “step in” I was reimbursed within 48hrs. Seemed to happen very quickly for me - I was impressed - paid through PayPal.

I think all things considered I was one of the lucky ones with regards to my eBay experience - not so much with qintianyu-ming who’s name I will repeat as they are an untrustworthy (just in case anybody is wondering). Your knowledge and advice is much appreciated and reassuringly detailed and I will be more discerning moving forward. These things are just so darn expensive.

ebay seller jiangxi70 is trying to tell me the package was shipped back and that the carrier is limiting package size and that he can only ship without the box (which I don't want). Sounds kinda sketchy to me like he was waiting to ship until the boxes could be made and then after me waiting 5 weeks he made this up. But has anyone else heard this before?

I've never heard of the mail carriers limiting sizes of packages.

As far as having shipments returned due to the excessive number of flight cancellations and weight restrictions on parcels, as well as the inflated rates of shipping charges due to these limitations, a return by carrier has been fairly common recently, but again, that's more due to weight than size, specifically, so not sure if that's just a minor miscommunication or not. I'd imagine the entire point of them offering to remove the box is to cut down on the size/weight of the shipment to meet certain restriction guidelines right now without charging a high shipping cost.

The only time I've EVER heard of a delay related to shipping boxes being made was a US domestic seller needing custom sized shipping boxes made for DX9 Capone orders due to the very unique shape and size of the retail boxes, but that is the ONLY time I've ever come across a box delay.

can't i just demand them ship via a service that does allow boxes that size?

I dunno about "demand" but you could definitely ask that they use another courier, but I expect if they were willing to take that option, they would want to charge you an additional fee, otherwise they're left holding the package for you until normal shipping methods resume. Barring that, you could simply request a refund instead.

I saw this yesterday that ShowZ now offering a 4th party KO of MP46. Buyers wanting the real McCoy will definitely need to exercise caution when these hit the market.

Yeah, with the pricing so close to each other, it's definitely difficult to spot the KO right off the bat. What makes this worse is even many legit sellers will sell these to customers, at times having no idea themselves it's a KO or simply not making any mention of it in their sales unless directly asked. This is generally why I do not support direct 1:1 KOs of products, especially when the packaging is intended to mislead potential buyers.

    I totally agree with you.

However, I’m guilty as the next person for knowingly buying KO MPs 1:1s and it’s understandable why others like myself have done so when the lower price and similar quality is up there with the originals.

For many collectors of such toys/figures, without a KO market even the 1:1s I’m sure there would be a drop off in collectors numbers especially when the pricing and availability or distribution channels taking the Siege and ER lines as an example selling mainstream figures at crazy prices will deter buyers.

I paid $277 for Gabriel and the quality of that is top notch in my opinion but I think $500 on MP44 is over the top. The 4th Party KO of that figure is coming in at $80/$90 without the trailer and no reason it cannot match the build quality in the way IT01 Megs has done on MP36.

I run both a chug and Masterpiece collection and justify KO purchases via my purchases of the originals across both. Makes me feel better in myself at least ;)

Yeah, I definitely get that, especially in cases when it seems like a 1:1, but the KO actually improves over the original, either in material, or QC. Where my view gets murky is something like MP-44. A release like that which is so unnecessarily cost-prohibitive to most buyers and a KO company can remake it just as well, at a fraction of the cost; I don't take much issue at all, and almost feel like the IP owner sorta brought it on themselves by creating a market for a cheap alternative.

Funny enough, I bought an MP-22 only for me and the seller to both later find out was a near perfect KO, but my official MP-31 has a list of weird little issues, despite them being nearly identical releases. This definitely changed a lot of my outlook on MP KOs, but I still hold to the belief, if you're going to make a KO, make it bigger, make it better, make it different, or make it obvious it's a copy; don't try to deceive people, just be upfront about it.

Once again totally agree. You are absolutely right.

I’m still waiting on my AliExpress THF Hyper Magnum (MP-22). It’s somewhere seeing the sites of China’s provinces.

Kinda wish I'd waited and gotten that version of Magnus, but luckily the kit from X2 Toys fixes most of the same issues that the THF version does, but sadly, without the extra cannon, though.
