I'm not a huge Inuyasha fan, but this sounds quite interesting. The character designs look pretty neat, too.

    Wow, holy shit.

If this is an anime-initiated project, and not a manga-reliant one, then it also might not suffer the filler issues that plagued the original anime (and the manga to a degree, since Takahashi doesn't really know how to wrap things up).

But I'm game. I loved the original anime, for all its issues. The cute chemistry between all its leads even helped me weather all the filler, in a way that I can't really say for most other long-running Shonen adaptations. I was so damned happy when Sunrise announced Final Act to finish it all off. And even if that was greatly truncated in spots, it made for a damned satisfying conclusion.

Yea, all the filler kept me from finishing the original, but if this doesn't have that issue, I'll be all for it.

Final Act is quite good, if you want to just cap it all off. The nature of Inuyasha's storytelling means you probably didn't miss much in the meantime, even if you skipped a bunch of it. The only thing you may be slightly mystified at might be some of the powers that Inuyasha Megaman'ed along the way, although Final Act comes in with its own host of powers that wind up mostly supplanting many of the older ones anyways, so it's moot.

Yea, yea, I've heard about that. But, by the point, I had long given up on Inuyasha. Probably by at least 5 years.

I mean, everybody did, since Final Act came in five years after the original series concluded. :p

I think I stopped watching it around 2003 though. lol I checked out earlier than most people in that anime. Heck, I think I checked out of anime in general around that time, because of anime like this. Along with Adult Swim and what not. It just represented everything I didn't like about anime at the time.

These days I am far more interested in the much older stuff. But, like I said, I would be interested in seeing this.

Viz does have a current relationship with CN (they got One Punch Man on the air), so they're probably damned well going to try.

You kidding me? Ugh. I was never a fan of the show because of how much filler I had to endure before the plot eventually moved.

People can get mad at me all they want for viewing my displeasure for this, but you get my point. I never even finished it because of said filler.

It literally says it's straight to anime. There won't be filler.

I knew someone in High School who was obseesed with this show. In fact, when I read this new I could of sworn I heard her scream with excitement from a million miles away.

Jesus, can't we just not have a sequel to a series that came out years ago anymore? Next, we're going to see sequels to like Shaman King, Fushigi Yugi, and Hana Yori Dango.

Can you imagine a DBZ sequel? I bet they'd call it super or something dumb. I mean that show ended in the 90s!

Honestly, this sounds like a much smarter sequel than the DBZ sequel. As the very nature of the show, is introducing a new audience to Inuyasha's world, through new characters made for a new generation of anime watchers. It's about their children, and not just more adventures of characters from an anime that came out like 25+ years ago.

Meaning, one could watch this show not having any clue who or what Inuyasha is, and still enjoy it. Unsure if I could say the same about DB Super.

Plus, anyone who liked the world, and didn't like the all the filler, or perhaps the lead characters, but liked some of the supporting characters, might be interested in it as well. Like myself. I wasn't a huge fan of the heroes, but I really liked Sesshomaru, Rin, and his little demon minion, I'd have stayed a lot longer, if they had played a larger role, or were the series. To me they were the most interesting part of the show.

Which is why I really like this idea, because I liked the world they created, I just didn't like the fact most of the episodes were completely meaningless, and the heroes won't all that interesting to me. But, a whole new cast of heroes, and less filler, there is an actual chance I might actually be interested in watching this from beginning until end.

Exactly my point. Japan is on this sequel kick and it's annoying. Super is a prime example of why a series should stay done. They couldn't even keep their own continuity straight in the first few episodes.
