Because they know star wars collectors arent cheap like so many transformers collectors are. Thats my guess.

 

They were pretty awesome, a shame they can't give one-steps knees. I mean, if Cyberverse Warriors are basically Fast Action Battlers... And those have knees. Well. Except for that one Starscream mold.

Well I was hoping more for the box to be more high end especially with spending over $600 for a figure that should be premium all the way around. Not just a cardboard box. I mean HasLab did a really nice vintage Star Wars box for Jabba's Sail Barge which is awesome. Which purchasers paid less for then we did for Unicron.

For Unicron we just get a simple yet sturdy cardboard box with simplistic art work which may or may not be in color.

I was hoping for some sort of awesome vintage nostalgic Transformers G1 box as this is a figure mostly for the adult collectors and not for kids especially with having such a high price tag. I mean in 1984 paying $24.99 for Optimus Prime was high for me as a kid. And with Unicron being a Generation 1 release character, I believe he deserves a awesome box to be a talking point amongst our collections not just the Unicron figure itself. I was hoping for something on the lines of the Takara release of Primus's box from 2005.

Would have loved to see this kind of box art in purple with grid lines with the old school Transformers logo with a Decepticon symbol and on the back all the Decepticon leaders. Or even a mixture of purple and red in the same style with the Transformers logo with Autobot and Decepticon symbols. With a scene of Unicron attacking Cybertron on the back of the box. Then showing some amazing art work of Unicron on the front with his robot mode and planet mode on the sides. Just something that makes me feel like I am getting what I am spending my money on. As for me the box is just as important as the figure inside. I want to have that feeling of what it was like when I was a kid when I see the box just like the boxes I have for my G1 boxes figures. Seems to much like Generations Select boxes.  Just don't want packaging to become a lost art like die cast metal parts!!!

its a box. You’re buying Unicron not what he comes in to get to you and what’s gonna end up in a landfill someday.

 

Funniest damn thing would be they did make a big flashy box update and when Unicron comes out and he missing a feature promoted and hasbro response it “well you babies bitched about wanting a better box so something had to get cut out of the budget to give it to ya”

Fans: how come Unicron’s eyes don’t light up? And what happened to the mini Galvatron and Rodimus?

The barge was cheaper because all it had to so was sit there. It didn't have to be engineered to transform or anything like that, so the comparison between the two is pretty poor. Also we've known since the campaign was going that it wouldn't be a fancy box.
