I wouldn't say no to them doing so, though. I don't know about you, but I could see the future MP Huffer or Tigertron pulling off some of these poses very well.
This. The figure itself isn't "sexy" even if it is a waifu design for the designer. It's the seeming need to pose her in "sexy" poses that's the real issue. Someone posted Megatron like one of the Arcee poses and he looked ridiculous. Not just daft, but in a way that you know there's zero chance that stock images would have ever put him in such a pose. There's no reason to feminise Arcee other than recognise she's a "female" Transformer. She isn't a human being, so isn't a woman. That means she doesn't need to pose in a way that a woman would (and I'm being generous to suggest that the poses used are even appropriate to use at all for women in the 2020's). Look, I get that there's a whole culture around waifu and whatnot, but when you're looking to design the most G1 toon accurate MP figures, even if you indulge your own fantasy a little, surely there is no reason why you need to pimp out your waifu?
People talk too much. Only problem with this figure is her chest is too low. Her white collar is too tall/long. What a dumb thing to say. These are female poses. Women pose like this. Men & women have different bodies, behaviors & poses. DER!!!
I’m seeing two screws for the backpack so far. Arcee is going to be pin heavy for sure. Could be up to 40 parts alone in her backpack. Probably zero springs as well. I can’t wait to get her in my evil clutches. That’s because in the picture I took of the inside of the stand, they used a spike instead of a block to lock in the gear to support Prime. Definitely a design flaw.
Looks over at some 3rd party Arcee and Windblade options I am mostly going off rumors of his v2. It's the only thing stopping me from getting 12+/14+ (as well as Starscream and Soundwave).
No minifigs then. Still not bad for accessories. Now who's gonna be the first to find the episode where she uses that big rifle?
People who got weirded out by unclothed Barbies. Personally I don't see it, none of these poses are that out there for any female action figure. Then again I'm not going on and on about her bum and cleavage.
It's in the pics, a long rifle (attached to her car): short grey one here too and smaller pink one here
Having been to Japan, and particularly the Akihabara district, I'd say that Arcee is being posed here like any other female Anime character. But even so, the poses are pretty hilarious. The only thing that sticks out to me though is that they gave her heeled boots, ugh! With that tiny foot space this thing is barely going to be able to stand.
"Women", you say? Bit generalized there, don't you think? Which women, specifically? Your Mom? Sisters? Baristas? Till operators? Air hostesses? I'd argue none of them do these poses except in very specific and private circumstances. I think some of these poses are only done by certain types of women, who tend to be a bit more on the sexual side either by personality or for their profession. Arcee's a warrior. How sexual do you think she poses while out in the field, or back at HQ? Answer: probably zero or close enough. Human artists sexualise her way too much, imo. Apply these same poses to Strika and they'd look properly ridiculous. It's not about her being female at all, or something all women just do - it's about this bodyform that's basically human female with backpack being used by overly hormonal gents to sell toys to overly-hormonal boys/gents.
