Overload, not Overlord. Two separate characters.

And the difference between Optimus and Cap/Superman is that Op's been fighting a millennia-long war and seen way more shit than the other two ever will just on sheer volume. As far as him being a half-measure with regards to fighting the war being compelling, we're going to have to disagree. To me, the compelling part isn't where the hero tries to save the villain (because most of the time the villain deserves to die anyway, and the hero needs to get on with it), it's where the hero is trying to save as many people as possible from the villain, and that usually involves utterly destroying the villain and his entire organization, so as to prevent future threats, because dead bad guys don't create more victims. If anything, it's the hero's moral duty to end the unrepentant villain.

As to the Decepticons not seeing themselves as the villains, I never said that I wanted villains who were just bad for its own sake, though said villains can work - sadists like Overlord, agents of anarchy like the Joker, and outright Satanic rebels can work. The phrase "no one is the villain of their own story" isn't a softening of the villain's villainy, it's a demonstration as to just how skewed the villain's perspective is from the truth. The real kernel of truth in that saying is that monsters do things that make sense to them: even if it's utterly monstrous by any reasonable definition of the word, to the monster it's perfectly logical. To give a headcanon/fancanon/fanfiction example, I've got a Megatron who implemented breeding camps to create the next generation of child soldiers. It's horrific on multiple levels, but in Megatron's mind, it makes sense - he needs troops, he didn't have a cloning procedure developed yet, and child soldiers end up doing a lot of psychological damage to the enemy even if they're killed in droves, and he can use their deaths to paint the Autobots as literal baby-killers via a compliant media. That kind of barbarism isn't just done out of blind sadism, but calculated cruelty designed to help its perpetrator achieve his goals. Because that's how the cruelest of actions are justified - because the perpetrator cares more about themselves and their goals than the pain they're causing.

And yeah, I hesitated for a good while to pull the trigger on having Megatron do that kind of stuff. It's vile on a level the franchise hasn't seen, but it's in character for this Megatron, who when he says he'll do anything to rule, he means it.

Transformers 7 comes out June 24th, 2022 but we don't know what Transformers 7 is going to be it's either going to be a sequel to Bumblebee or the animated movie on Cybertron or the Beast Wars movie

it's the same with people that have a fixation that what comes next must pay homage to what ever former series of TF is their favorite.

What I dont want carried on from the old movie verse, but certainly will "Lorenzo di Bonaventura"

One of the major things I still want this new TF universe to have is to keep some bay-verse aesthetics. Shatter and Dropkick kept the complexity of the Bayformers, but made them recognizable still. Here's an example of what I'd like to see in my file pic.

I don't know who made it, but you can see how they look complex and original but yet have recognizable features. (Although I would change the size of a few and bring back Overload's spider legs.) There's always room for creativity.

I too think some of the aesthetic and complexity should stay. Those Constructicons are cool designs, but honestly I prefer the regular movie designs. I think that takes away from how unique the movie designs are both as individual characters and as a group. They’re still cool though and something like that in a comic or something would be neat.

Yeah, I hope they carry over the uniqueness of some of the designs.

If they're really deciding to start fresh and going forward want to do something that better represents TF as a whole, one of the quickest ways to ruin that is to begin incorporating elements from the Bayverse. Anything that wasn't actively detrimental can be easily carried over and probably be done better, such as the music.

Whoever says Michael Bay and Travis Knight are the same person and identity change like a robot are full with complete bullshit

Travis Knight is not Michael Bay. I've been saying that for a long time.

Barricade and Blackout I wouldn't mind crossing over and getting more Bumblebee movie-like designs. Some of the soundtrack.

    Other than that, nothing.

I'd also like Bonecrusher and Brawl. I really like that first movie Decepticon line-up, more than the G1 line-up.

    Sector 7, obviously.

No buncha relics littering the planet. Optimus can have the Matrix and perhaps it can be a Decepticon objective ala issues 5 - 12 of Marvel US G1.

I want Simmons to be contacted by his future self from a doomed timeline, John Turtoro returning, in a Target 2006/Rhythms of Darkness type of time travel/fluid future story and get a Simmons × Simmons action adventure FT Skids (G1 Style) as a callback to the character's time with Bayverse Skids.

    TRANSFORMERS: ONE MAN, ALONE

Skids: But there's two of you....

    Old Simmons: ONE MAN....A-LONE

Young Simmons: ...betrayed by the country he loves!?

Old Simmons: Now you're catching on, kid!

    Skids: This planet is doomed.

Not sure if that's someone we're supposed to know or some random guy on Facebook.

I know you said you don't know the artist but its theamazingspino on instagram. They have an entire transformers universe they seem to be building using their own style of designs. Could you edit your comment and give them credit?

I think it'd be a good idea to bring back 2007 Blackout, Brawl and Bonecrusher along with Barricade. They don't necessarily have to do another movie with the same set of Decepticons, I would be fine with them appearing as cameos like in the Cybertron scene.

Maybe rename the latter two something like "Treadshock" and "Roadripper" to distinguish them as individuals not associated with a Combiner. I'd be thrilled to see them appear in Generations or a Reboot toyline.
