This. I don't know why the whole "Bumblebee was a flop/underperformance" thing keeps getting parroted over the past couple months. Was Bumblebee a smash hit? No. Will Hasbro and Paramount probably want future movies to make closer to DOTM-level money? Absolutely. But Bumblebee was factually a success. "Solidly profitable". It wasn't expected to make DOTM-level money. And Hasbro and Paramount certainly wouldn't be leaning into Bumblebee as an approach for future movies if it wasn't solidly profitable.

For once I agree with you on something.

 

@Rumblestorm Look man no one's arguing about wanting greatly made TF shows/series of any sorts. We all do however we also need to remember that in the end Transformers is a glorified toy commercial that Hasbro despite wanting to be more then just a toy company still wants to keep that intact in some form or another. Even fan favorites such as Beast Wars aren't excluded from this. What we can do is to hope that future shows will be greatly written to also be solid shows as well as effective toy commercials as well as hope for the ones coming now will end up being at least decent enough to like if not outright great. Yeah we don't always get what we want from Hasbro but that also applies to life in general.

 

On a slightly related point. Is it just me or is Hasbro/Netflix missing a golden opportunity to have both demographics (older/younger audiences) see the new WFC series? With the shelter in place laws in effect for some time to come, this would be a great opportunity to expand both bases with people searching for new streaming content. I know many of us have put a solid dent in our various streaming queues, so dropping S1 of WFC would be perfect timing. It may also help clear the store shelves of WFC:S merchandise as well! Unless the show ends up being hot mess

They have all of those on Tubi for free. As someone who was born on the tale end of the 80s this is my first opportunity to watch everything. As a kid I could only get my hands on old VHs tapes of S1 at blockbuster. So it's cool being able to watch it in its entirety. In addition to the ones you mentioned they have the armada trilogy, beast machines, and animated. Noticeably missing is 2001 RID. It's going to be fun because a lot of this content I will be viewing for the first time.

 

The name is also "War for Cybetron", i don't play the game, but look how the IDW comic are, hear the project come from Netflix, i was expect something else, not this, i expect new toy. So Hasbro absolutely hate the idea of making their own in cybetron or comic's design toy ? they just want to make rehash G1 mold again ? Don't they think kid get bored already with the same toy again and again, and again ? because i did
Also, this seem like isn't a very big budget project. compare with what you can find with Nextlix original. I used to think the same and disappointed with Voltron (it is not terrible, just slow pacing, not enough of fight scene, episodic), and this look not even as good as Voltron. I know it not big so i don't compare it to something like Love dead + Robot

 

So, we're a day away from June. Any news on the release date?

 

They already have earthrise planned along with another season for the third part of the Trilogy.

 

Well hopefully they increase everything for the following seasons, run time, season length etc

 

...judging from hasbro's recent history, probably after the final wave of WFC3 is warming shelves and the next trilogy of toys are rolling out to general retail...

Not like we can learn much from it, they have to keep pretty much everything secret otherwise they’d spoil most of the short season’s contents. I doubt there’ll be much in this season other than what we saw in the trailer.
