That was already covered, a few posts above, as in TF circles, we distinguish between "KO" and "3P'. However, TECHNICALLY, they are knockoffs.

That's an important legal point, though, and the goes towards the main reasons why do many products that we use are actually so similar to others; Because most of them are knockoffs and/or are potentially infringing upon the IP of others. This is partly why I could imagine IP law is so complicated and difficult to prove.

Takara's isn't much better; Hasbro seems able to sell Takara Selects toys, but not the other way round, even though regular TFs in Japan now are the Hasbro versions?

Pretty sure they are normal micromasters size? So downscaled hot wheel size? Paul has them on AFC, so maybe he can shed some light on their size... yo @SirToys , how small are the micromaster/hot wheels crossovers?

In terms of grooming a collector market to accept price-gouging and consumer-hostile practices, I think Takara is the master and Hasbro is still the student. :)

Guys, made a new thread for older stuff

The Vintage Bootleg, KO, Fake and Weird Stuff thread

Hope to make it as good as this thread :)

Here´s my latest vintage figure: "Sun Warriors Jupiter"

Full gallery on the thread, and comparisons with other releases

Maybe it feels sort of unnecessary to split off a vintage KO thread, since there's not as much turnaround on the old stuff, and it's still fun to see those items get posted here every once and a while.

But if there's enough interest to keep it cooking, by all means... :)

Speaking of that, I wish the KO entry at Tfwiki was updated. It makes no mention of the current market state, such as the "Wei Jiang era" (upscaled/modified/high grade KOs, etc).

Whoa, how'd you get the Ironhide head to stay on? I was doing the exact same thing for a custom project and haven't quite gotten it to stick. Blu-tac? Nail polish?

Also, is anyone else having serious delays with stuff coming to the US from overseas? My first Sirtoys order was here inside of a month, while the one I placed in early April has been bouncing around Chinese customs since 4/20 (lolololol). Is it just a lack of flights to the US for EMS parcels, or is there some political bullshit going down?

It's mostly lack of flights for airmail, my siege nemesis has been in postal limbo from robotkingdom since 3/28

Yeah, there's a little bug going around, it's caused a few problems here and there, you've probably not heard of it.

Folks, those hornets aren't they bad. They're native to Japan, and although I'm scared of bugs in general (definitely including them), the current hornet isn't that aggressive in its regular life. They fly by (and are so big you can see their eyes as they fly by) but they don't have any desire to interact with humans, or attack them (unlike wasps in the UK, which will use any excuse to land, in groups of 1-3 on your food, cup, arm, head, etc and sting you for lulz).

As long as you don't try and kill them, or invade the space near their nests, you should be fine.

Local, European honey bees, though, are doomed, if these hornets take hold in the US.

lol i live twenty minutes from the CDC, in a state with a governor who found out sometime in April what "asymptomatic transmission" means

I meant more "is there some dick-waving between Trump and Xi that is causing the holdups or is it just stuff being slow because of a lack of flights" but go off.

Was more of a joke. Glad to hear they don’t care for humans, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t dangerous.

Being an invasive species, they’re still a danger to our echo system. Due to the mass threat to the American bees and other pollinating species.

Blu-tac it is! Not a permanent custom, just me playing around. :)

Just done a quick count up - I have 9 versions of the same CW Streetwise mould - a mix of official and KO. I'm Mel and I have a problem!

:lol  I have so many unfinished custom ideas on the shelves that are just stuck in place with blu-tac. Sometimes I forget which ones are just temporary! haha
